Hey guys and gals,

We are an automotive retailer mainly dealing with performance products.

Right now we have been in contact with a manufacturer of top quality (non Chinese) turbochargers that are priced very competitively and still utilise parts from Garrett.

As we are aware of the dangers in selling sub-standard turbochargers we have taken our time in choosing a good manufacturer.

We have never sold turbochargers so we are looking for you guys to help us out and tell us what you think would be popular and in demand.

Sizes, HP ratings ect. anything really that would help us in deciding what to start off with importing.

Your input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Brendan

A bolt on RB25 turbo that makes around 260-270rwkw.

It must be responsive, ball bearing and around the 1500-1700 price mark to better Garrett who are making a killing in that area.

Using as near to factory size/looking housings as possible.

That is the market seller IMO and most common choice

this!

That to but best to bring a few in and try them with different applications as a Trial and see the overall response the only way to sell is with proven performance as we all no it may look good on paper but in the flesh or steel it can be bad just my opinion

22-24psi and a aggressive tune on -5s will do that.

ya dont need need -10s, they are 450 region.

I think the GTR bolt on market is quite well filled with garrett, and the turbo prices are quite reasonable.

add to the fact its hard to test/swap turbos, and GTR owners mostly choose what works for that reason.

its RB20/RB25 even 25/30 where the most sales and gain is from a business perspective.

how about a bolt on kit for the holset turbo range? re-sell the internal wastegate type, get someone to make up dump pipes, oil lines made up and a recirculating water pipe made up and a 15-20mm spacer.

these turbos sound great, cheap to run, proven results, and are cheap to rebuild and push upwards of 300kw. the only down side is they are bush bearing (which hasnt caused any dramas) and there are no bolt on options for the rb's.

Yep, stock looking turbos for RB25 producing about that much power and work with existing manifold, dump, intake piping and possibly lines.

The stock intake pipe wont work in my experience over 250rwkw. A replacement intake pipe that looks factory would be great, I had to make mine up.

Is that because of size or because factory one collapses under pressure?

I sort of meant factory in terms of size, but yeah, my bad :)

Just had a talk with the manufacturers....

They don't offer any RB series turbo's at this point in time but they do have an RB25DET in the back.

What about some universal T25/T28, T3/T4 turbo's.... all are journal bearing and most externally gated.

Applications are from 1.5L to 4.0L engine applications.

What you guys think.... universal fit turbo's???

You wouldn't be able to offer anything different to what is for sale on the market at the moment!

Maybe with a $500 price tag and a 5 year warranty????????? but otherwise others are doing it, have the market, have the network and have the backup. Pity i thought this was actually going somewhere.

Edit: You need a difference, a market edge, not sure how or what, but thats for you to find.

mmm.... these would fit between the cheap China ones and Garret ect.

So you would say there is more interest in turbo's for the RB25 in the 250-260rwkw range?

Does anyone know of a brand of turbo not made in China but priced not far from them?

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
