Cheers for that, I love how you guys are so moderate on here :nyaanyaa:

I prefer the front end on the S1, funnily enough the S2's are starting to grow on me.

Plus I got this one purdy cheap, with only 67k on the clock

i like the S1 front ends much more than the S2's also.

couldnt ignore the newer/more powerful motor though.....

i think this will look awesome drifted out. and yep, built not bought is always more rewarding if you have the time/space to do it - something which i no longer i have either of......

Yeah the S2 is a better car out of the box, but the way I see it (as do you) is that it's much more fun building a car then buying it as is. I'm just happy that I found a great nick, low km S1 DAYZ eddition ... all the overs I looked at had double the km's. I even drove a few S2's and they were quite nice indeed, could feel the power difference but still, I'm happy with my choice :D

The power difference is two parts of bugger all once you strap some performance mods on until you reach a point where hydraulic lifters are the weak link.

The real advantage of the series 2 (assuming a 260RS is out of the price equation) is the standard manual transmission on RS4S (same running gear as 260RS, gearbox etc), aftermarket ECU choice is so much easier ie. Nistune, PowerFC etc etc but all the other fun aftermarket modifications are available with a whole lot less stuffing around.

That's true, I was happy to comprimise these sort of things for the Stagea I really wanted though. Like I said, I will be changing quite a lot of things, oh and I'm sure the stock clutch in an RS4S wouldn't like the abuse I'd give it on the track

some ninja took this photo ... dunno when though =/

Holy shit yes! Who makes those?

As much as I love your car, it has sold me on a max of 9s/9.5s, I just don't have the testicular fortitude to do that to my guards! (re duckbills)

Floody, no need for Duckbills. Personally I preffer pulled than folded lips. I had my pulled by Finefitment and I run a 9.5 +25's. I'm sure I could run 10 +15's on the rear and the guard holds close to the same profile as the standard gaurds.

I'd rock them, but shit they aren't cheap!

I was wondering what kind of wide body/flares there were for these things. I'll end up fixing the "duckbills" soon enough, I'll be pumping the guard out evenly so they look purdy.

Good find Mike :D

Those are pretty sick too!

We'll see what happens aye. I've got some plans for the body, still kinda tossing up whether to get another kit or not, but I have other priorities at the moment ... like a stick shift! :D

final motion make the guards http://www.final-motion.jp/

Slightly offtopic, are those final motion guards (in FRP) 63k yen each, and 129k for a pair? Seems to be what their website is saying, think google translate is missing a little bit of the translation though.

Adam, you should bring the car to one of our days - the SAU-NSW Texikhana!

ooohhh, I've been meaning to get out there in the 5!

Would be a fun day, hopefully I have the manual in before then.

Spewing I missed the latest Stagea meet too :( how often do you guys hang? It would be nice to meet some Stagea owners.

Looks like it is each piece huh, hmm.

You totally should! I don't want to be the only LOLvo out there competing (again)... :( And there might be a few other MX5s there too.

We don't have Stagea meets often enough, unfortunately, but them's the breaks.

Cool, well hopefully I remember and I'll be down.

I could think of the MX-5's that will be down there too haha, would be good to catch up with them.

Automatic is starting to shit me, really want my mate to finish paying me for the MX-5, take it off my hands and let me get on with a manual conversion.

    • Hi guys . Can someone help me  I bought an Android screen for my Nissan fuga but it won't turn on
    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
