True, but you can search by ECU model number there can't you? So you can check?

I didn't read anything saying it was US only models, could be lucky and get JDM too???

Or am I seeing that glass as half full again?

just my 2c on this. I know there are a few of you that are electronically minded. who says you have to clone the chip directly? fire it up get it to spit out serial data and note that down. if if you are really intrigued and feel like memory mapping it then you can work out HOW/where it writes things to and write your own code for it.

the ONLY catch to this will be if nissan actually forgot to lock the thing. given that its nissan I would say the didn't and the hitachi's internal flash has been locked down. you will have buckleys of getting unlocked.

I know a certian russian fellow that worked with hitachi SH4s so he could probably tell you a thing or two about them - food for thought.

Electronics, yes. Programming? Noooooo. :P

I would say, seeing the Nismo uses the stock chip and the aftermarket programs seem to have a p1ggybacked board, that the chip is locked.

maybe its not locked. if andys one has epoxy all over the chip, that would be to stop people reading the map they have put in there, i mistakenly remembered it as a piggyback board. so its entirely possible its not locked. id go for it NOT being locked.

Thats my opinion also; Impul wouldnt be covering it in an epoxy if it wasnt possible to read off what they'd put on it

yes but in saying that ....the Impul does not have the Throttle restriction removed....it being a piggyback chip may be the reason it has not been removed!

we need to see pics before we can determine if its a piggyback chip

also they may not change the throttle restriction as their ignition mapping is more aggressive, or maybe they dont want to change it due to the weak ass gearboxes we all have and they dont want to be held responsible for any damage/reliability issues.

it may not be that they CANT change it, it might be that they WONT.

I posted up pics of my Impul ECU in the 'Impul ECU' thread on M35staga.info I think? But I'm 99.9% sure it didnt have any additional chips at all.

Hey Dunc.....you do know that I still thank you every time I put my foot down for the Nismo don't you!!thumbsup.gif

 Im just glad I decided to be selfish and get the Impul for me and not offer it out to someone else :P

yup found it! hard to say if its got a chip on top. does it have the same model number as the factory one?

ill have to dig up the factory ECU pic i took and see if its the same inside.......

I'll have higher res photos at home - but from memory I posted the details that were stamped on the chip in the thread - and they were the same as my stock one. But I will double check them :)

both US websites. you do realise there is a US M35? its not even remotely the same as an JDM M35

Im more interested if it can be read or nissan cpu can be interfaced first.... If WRX and EVO stock ecu can be tune..... im sure nissan ones could be too

www.romraider.com

www.openecu.org

So if it can be interfaced, then thats a start.... as for me i just have had the stagea for less then 3 months so excuse me im new to what can and could be done.

He has not done any work on this ECU and does not really know anything more than us. He has specialized in other areas.

    • I'd be very surprised if you can buy new OEM mats. But if you can, I want some too!  Do you have links to the variations you found? Also, where are you located? I found that Nengun is happy to list items to purchase but when you do buy them you'll get an email that it's actually discontinued. As far as I know the variations in floor mats are different colour schemes as well as automatic and manual having a slightly different shape. The automatic ones fit into a manual car without issues, but I think you'd have trouble fitting the other way around. I have photos that show the shape difference if you care. FWIW I bought sets of used floor mats in decent condition at yahoo auctions.
    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
    • Hi, Marek here 🙋‍♂️. I finally fulfilled my longtime dream - recently bought Stagea and now waiting for it to arrive in Poland. There's only few of these in my country, and one of the owners  recommended mi this forum as a source of all the info i'd need since now i own one  so here i am.
    • Version 1 aluminium airbox is.......not acceptable No pics as I "didn't like the look.....alot" Even after all my "CAD", and measurements, the leg near the fusebox just didn't sit right as it ended up about 10mm long and made the angle of the dangle look wrong, the height was a little short as well, meh, I wasn't that confident that Version 1 was going to be an instant winner I might give Version 2 another go, there's plenty of aluminium at work, but, after having in on and off a few times, and laying in the old OEM airbox without the new pod filter and MAF, there may be an option to modify the OEM air box and still use the Autoexe front cover and filter.... maybe This >  Needs to fit in here, but using the panel, and not the pod, the MAF will need to fit in the airbox though> I'm thinking as the old OEM box and Autoexe cover that is sitting in the shed is just sitting around doing nothing, and they are relatively abundant and cheap to replace if I mess it up and need another, it may well fit with some modifications to how the Autoexe brackets mounts to the rad support, and some dremiling to move it get in there, should give me some more room for activities, as I don't want to move the MAF and affect the tune Sealing the hole it requires to stick it in the air box is simple, a tight fit and some pinch weld will seal it up tight  I am calling this a later problem though
