This Event will be up for discussion at the Exec meeting tomorrow.

Likely start will be at Top Secret Imports

Likely finish will be at Cordeaux Dam (after doing a recon 3 days ago) unless Bargo has something more spectacular to offer Raf.

Likely dates are Oct 2nd or Oct 16th. The SAU "LINE" Newsletter (out yesterday) states it's on Oct 2nd.

SAU is likely to be running a Suspension/Brake Tech night on Wed 19th & NATS is on the 29th. So hopefully there's no conflict.

Comments welcomed? Bring them along to the Organisers Meeting?

Would some of you like to have an Organisers' Meeting on Sunday 17th July at Top Secret Imports via Maccas lunch further up Sunnyholt Rd?

Hopefully you guys choose the 16th as the date, (as I will be overseas till 11th) and with the grand final on the 2nd I think it will impact the numbers turning up.

As for the organisers meeting, I'm happy to assist if the event goes ahead on the 16th oct, but as the 17th is the Mrs' birthday, I've got no chance of making it.

Terry, I like the sounds of the proposed finish point, haven't been there in years. Looking forward to it!

Not available for the organisers meeting, but if volunteers are required, let me know if I can assist.

Cheers, Dale

SAU Meeting - yes it's Official > Oct 2nd to help accommodate anyone who's coming from interstate on a long weekend.

Organisers' Meeting will be on July 17th after meeting up at Kings Pk Maccas at 1pm > Top Secret Imp conference room.

Please come along and help construct something to remember!

And thanks to you guys for volunteering on the days ahead!

BTW, anyone who is thinking of prioritising the NRL Grand Final Vs The Stagea 15th Anniv,

1) TSI as sponsors will be offering prizes on the day - for Best **** Categories to be announced by Head Organiser Nick

2) The Grand Final Result is Melb Storm 13 beat St George 12. So now you know the result, you only need to place bets...

Hoping that the dates change, the 1st and 2nd Oct is AFL/NRL grandfinal weekend... I love my cars but footy grandfinal weekend will always win.

I'll keep an eye out and hopefully the date is moved to the 16th so I can make the drive down from Brisbane.

We now have TWO WINS!!!!

1) Top Secret Imports is sponsoring this event!!!

2) Performance Imports Magazine will be covering this event!!!

...as confirmed by Chief Editor, Jason Round to-day.

C'mon people, there is a meeting this Sunday afternoon (around lunch-time) for those who have ideas to contribute to what we can do to make this an awesome event. If you cannot make it out there and you have ideas, feel free to add them to this thread or send a PM to either Terry or myself.

:D

Organisers (if you'd like to be one), our meeting is definitely on this Sunday at Top Secret Imports HQ at 1.30pm - Forge St Blacktown.

Prior to that, we're having a 12.30 lunch at Maccas Kings Park - up the road a bit.

We're open to any input - and I'm really looking forward to an article purely based on a whole raft of Stageas in "Performance Imports"

Did you know that Jason Round Chief Editor of PI Mag gave your Stageas preference for an article over the R35 5th Anniversary next year?

Well-well-well!!!

I'm a bit late reading about this, but sounds like a great event & would like to come down for it.

Point to note: the October long weekend will mean double demerit points, so everyone will have to be very alert when travelling :ermm: .

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
