Loading Zone.pdf

Had an argument with a parking inspector regarding my use of a loading zone in the Sydney CBD, to pick something up from work. I pointed out that my stag meets the requirements as per the road rules. .he said it's for loading and unloading. . of stuff, I said perhaps he needs to read it again. . includes people. .

Just a quick rant as I thought it was funny to stick it to a parking inspector, mind you I made sure I was quick to avoid going over time. . lol

it's also an FYI for you stag owners that did not know about this rule for that quick park at shops and important places. .

Nice one Jules!:worship:

Pretty clear in the guidelines that the wagon qualifies. Getting one over a parking inspector; livin' the dream right there.

I reckon he was timing me to pounce come the 16th minute. .to help keep car parks safe. .

haha good work...been doing that one for years (the ute is also great for it).

I understand the parking inspector's frustration, especially with all the 4wds getting around these days...but for once the rules go our way :D

2008 NSW ammendments removed 4WD's for that exact loop hole. .but glad the wagons remained, so convenient when popping in to city of busy shops.

being a courier driver and seeing people who park their cars in loading zones gives me the shits. while i have no problem with people parking in loading zones for 5-10min to quickly grab something. its the people that park there for hours that give me the shits. and then when you double park and block them in, they suddently rush out screaming their head off.

I agree totally, it's perfect for it's intended purpose, in & out

What is a station wagon?

A station wagon is a vehicle having all of the following features.

  • Has a sedan equivalent. That is, the body forward of the front seat or seats and the greater part of the mechanical equipment, is the same or substantially the same as in a car of the same make and
  • Has a flat roof extending at the same height to the rear of the vehicle. That is, the body is carried without significant reduction in height from the front seat or seats to the rearof the vehicle and
  • Has an entrance at the rear suitable for the loading and unloading goods and
  • Is manufactured with a rear seat or seats which can be folded or removed readily to provide additional floor space for the carriage of goods and
  • That when the seat or seats immediately to the rear of the front seat or seats are in position for passengers, has a substantial space for the carriage of goods in proportion to the overall size of the interior of the vehicle.

nope, not 4wd, they are AWD :D

Isnt the stagea 4wd not awd, isn't it the same setup as say a hilux or rodeo. 4wd light on dash, 4wd fuses in fuse box. Kinda makes me assume 4wd also. I would only consider a Subaru or landcruiser as an awd, constant 4 wheel propultion. I may be wrong but that's my understanding.

i was always under the assumption that 4wd was selectable and involved a proper centre diff with gears and things that go clunk (and maybe high/lo range)

pretty sure awd is when you have a transfer case like ours

...and how does the Cube qualify Duncan - or not?

so according to this you guys with c34 and r34 front would be very easy to convince them that it's a skyline wagon and that they can't get you for anything.

Yeah, that's my "take" on it too. IMO a Subaru Liberty Outback would still just qualify (if I were in need to argue the point to a parking inspector) but a Forrestor would not (sorry Terry :().

its one of the boxes to be loaded :nyaanyaa:

Hahahahaha

Well, Stageas are basically built on a Skyline platform, so that's your qualification there. And yeah, the R34 front would make it a fair bit easier to convince them!

    • (it is a brand new ported mellings pump) I suspect the lack of pressure is due to the leak. It was *not* that low in other logs of oil pressure in the past. It wasn't that hot either, but not far off.
    • Would a Mellings oil pump be a viable option  From my time with a LS, and talking to tuners and LS specialists, the "weak" OEM oil pump is one of the first things they recommend to swap out if I was going to give the engine any high RPM I opted for a Mellings high volume, with the high pressure springs and I never had a issue with it Cost wise they are not expensive in the scheme of things
    • Just bought a 2002 Stagea 250tRS VR-X Four AERO VQ25DET and spent the last two weekends cleaning and detailing it.. still have to do the wheels and the engine bay but the rest of it came up nice. Imported 2011 to S.A. and I'm the third owner since it was imported. I met the guy who brought it over, he went to Japan and picked out the car, bought it and ordered the wheels. He also gave me a list of stuff he did to the car with receipts. Coil overs (I have the original springs), 3" exhaust from the dump pipe back no cat, Custom dump pipe,(I have the original exhaust), Plenum spacer, 18" custom Work XSA wheels (need restoring, I've made a start..), Shift kit put through the 5 speed tiptronic auto, TV and menus/screens changed to english, Australian DTV tuner installed in rear. I've just had four new discs and new pads as well as all the fluids including the brake fluid replaced. I have all the receipts for the last 15 years and the import papers in a nice folder. Car looks great, goes like hell but fuel economy is not a thing lol.. pics next..
    • I ended up in this rut again lol, and used a shit ton of filler. One thing I can't understand is, even after using a big long block and going in long X pattern strokes, I always end up at bare metal again with no filler, and my repair started at one end of the door and now I've chased my tail to almost the other end of the door. I was thinking of hitting the panel with a hammer where it might be a high spot and making everything low then filling it, I did this on a small section on my other door by mistake and I think I fixed it lol. Is this a bad idea? The other thing is with guidecoat, whether it's the powder or spray, after I sand all the guide coat off, it doesn't reveal anything for me in terms of high spots and low spots and makes it especially hard when it's bare metal (at least in powdered form), am I doing something wrong here, or likely a high spot I keep going over and creating valleys? Lastly, stupid question but, is it possible that after sanding if I only sand over the filler area where I know to be a dent that it's impossible for me to dig into that dent? Unless there are other problems which I missed.
