anyway im looking at a full rebuild plus machining and all that for the bottom end i was wondering on your opinions i was thinking forged bottom end but i am new to this so if i can get some help it would be fantastic....i was thinking westend performance in campbelltown for the machining and im from wollongong there is a couple of good engine shops down here but if i can get some ideas on shops or combos that would help alot thanks guys will post photos and stuff of the stock gear and the build along the way

really depends on your budget and the direction you want to take your car, like i said before, the cheapest and easiest way is probley to just buy a complete engine and drop it in, you can get them for around $3500 and $4000 or....

there is a 2.7 jun stroker kit for sale in the for sale section just needs a set of pistons which would work good for you since you are going to have to boreout your block to get rid of scoing so you can just buy what ever size pistons you need after you find out how far you have to bore it or....

i remember seeing a built 3ltr i there some where aswell ready for a 26 head.

Definately get Aarons one. Like i said on the phone it would be an awesome buy and with turbo's etc will work out the same cost as a rebuild without the headaches

I can tell you about that engine. I bought and installed that into the car. I can assure you it's 100% genuine R34 N1 Nur engine. I purcahsed it brand new from nissan in japan. had it fitted to the R32. and then imported it. I sold the car to aaron a couple of years ago and he's been a very fastidious owner ever since. I don't know what he's asking for it but I know what it cost. if it's anything around $5K it's a steal. it's very low km and will handle plenty of power.

ok sweet how long did you own this motor and how many kms did it travel with you?yea i have read they can handle like 600hp but if i can get anywhere over 300kw atw ill be happy and obviously wind it down for normal daily driving to around 220kw i think that should help the motor last a lil longer but yea giving the mechanic a call today about it and hopefully pick it up next weekend providing its all good....

i did however find this for a bottom end rebuild would you guys care to comment please?

I would have to check when exactly I purchased the motor (possibly 2009?). I bought it brand new from nissan kokura (japan) and it was checked and installed by Prime Garage (built cars like Yoshioka's D1 car, Super GT cars etc). I had the car for not long, maybe 1 year and I would say travelled less than 2,000kms on it. It was treated very well when I had it and I'm sure treated just as well when Aaron had it. He was a fastidious buyer (had the car and engine thoroughly checked before he bought it off me) and a very careful owner. Aaron probably has some pics etc from when I had it installed. i'm pretty sure I passed them on to him.

just checked, it was about June 2009 it was built. I also bought brand new R34 n1 turbos for it too. it also has tomei 1.2mm head gasket, and the head was expertly ported by Tetsuya at prime garage. From memory it had the inlet manifold etc port matched too. also fitted brand new injectors, brand new R34 crank angle sensor, 6 brand new genuine coil-packs, and ignition transistor unit (over $1200 just for those 2 bits). also had brand new N1 crank damper fitted, all new hoses etc too. Also has tomei timing belt and other gaskets. Just checked my bills, total was about $20K for the engine work, the engine, and fitting.

The car itself was immaculate too. I still have the old engine I removed from it to make way for the nur engine. That engine was still in perfect health too. If aaron doesn't have the receipts for it I still have copies I can give him.

Good price for a rebuild it with the dearest parts in it. Will handle more power then you intend to throw at it.

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
