LOL i am at that price huh? pinch.gif

Nice work Justo glad ya pulled out the calculator and crunched the numbers for me mate i should be able to afford a tank by tax time id say! haha

think your getting ripped mate :nyaanyaa:

:P

I'm really looking forward to your results on the E85. I am wondering how it will compare to my GTX3071R setup, but with water methanol injection and type B Poncams. I am hoping to get close to E85 results on 98. Will be winding in as much boost as it will take!!!

I will finally be assembling the bottom end this Wednesday. Still a month or 2 away with all the other work needed though.

Yeah watch this spot dude ill post my results up when its tuned i said the same thing to my tuner screw as much boost as ya can into her if my injectors can keep up the demand

2 months dude? epic build mate but im keen to see your results though same turbo but different setup should be a monster

Not too sure to be honest Andy sooner the better i say!

Whats wrong with the stag mate?

If you are around Richmond this weekend give us a dial mate keen to check ya ride and give you a spin in mine

Are they tuning it tonite or tomorrow? The fat slug is going in on Thurs for tidy up and to sort a couple of minor issues.

Hahaha sweet keen to hear the 3076 whistle away

Wish my turbo was noisey :spank:

The slug is fine just a few little things that need a tidy up. Out in the boondocks on Saturday so we can compare notes as soon as I finish.

Just a lil update on my car had map sensor dramas yavus thinks its a dodgy sensor so my car was only tuned on 18psi and made 307rwkw once i get a new sensor and bump up the boost to 25psi its gunna feel real nice im really happy with how the car feels on E85 much livelier on and off boost and is just more responsive all round

Wow, I think the GTX will make a fair bit more once you get 25 pounds into it.

Wish we could get E85 here :(

Another 7psi and we will see what the billet wheels can do.

The compressor can only flow to its maximum capacity. Sure, bump up the boost and watch the midrange soar (good times :)). Even running E85 you will run into a restriction with what the turbine can flow up top. I'm guessing a bottleneck around 320kW, but a ridiculously fat midrange with 25psi.

Mick's car drives really nicely. It delivers in a very linear fashion through to redline. I feel like there should be more urge at 3000-4000rpm when you open the throttle which is surprising given the 71mm compressor, however it is very subjective (using the arse dyno) but my 3076 feels a little stronger here. Nevertheless it is very impressive and will have a very very fat midrange once it has more boost crammed in. The E85 has improved this car everywhere IMO.

The drivability of Mick's car is very impressive which is a credit to the tuner and the setup generally.

Dale I think it will go to about 335ish.

I'd also like to thank Mick for blowing a hose on my car and then fretting that he had done some damage....lol.

Thanks for the kind words Andy its good getting to drive a different set up car real world comparisons are a much better way to judge setups than dyno sheets

Our cars do feel very similar in the way the power is delivered be very interesting to see how our cars performed side by side

Sorry bout that hose mate glad i only owe you a new hose clamp and not a new engine... lol

so what is the power delivery like? second and third gear? does it throw you in the seat and you see stars ?

I never floor my car from 1st - 2nd but when ya mash the noise pedal in 2nd it will plant you in the seat bout 3700-3800rpm and pulls real hard to 7200 and it just hits 110kph 3rd gear is very much the same to give you an idea i opened her up in 3rd last nite and at maybe 120-130kph hit a bit of uneven road not really a pot hole but kind of a dip and she started to break traction haha feels unreal!

    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
    • Wouldn’t touch par if they gave it to me. You need to ask how much power you’re looking to make and then add about 50% to it because that’s what you’ll end up making  The factory box says no more at about 350kw or so, the upgraded synchro boxes won’t handle much over 500kw for long and at that point you’re looking at an auto or dog engagement manual,  once you’ve gone dog engagement you may as well go sequential, they cost a little bit more but it’s worth it  also while you’re at it you should upgrade the transfer case with 10 friction plates
