I hear you loud and clear on that one Mark....

Straight answers are sometimes hard to get in this game, particularly from the other side of the ditch.

Less lag than stock with turbos three times the size? I've seen plenty of stuff in my time, but never that...or perpetual motion has indeed been discovered! :)

Sorry Domino....cant hear you.... :)

We have something to fix that (hint: WR35BTDF) - some of the smart ones run it, and it shuts the gear noise up maybe 50%, but still cant totally overcome the fact that the gear isnt finished in a manner as to provide silent operation, hence it makes that sound

Very similar to this -

A bit off topic... but...

Picked up the G55 from Carlin & Gazzard in Mt Gamber this morning. The level of service that these guys give to the customer is unbelievable. I've owned / own plenty of nice cars and I have never experienced anything like this before. I can highly recommend them !!

I had them "black out" the G55 before I picked it up as I'm not a fan of all the chrome. It might not be to everyone's taste but I like it and it looks tough. Oh and the sound...... 5.5ltrs of supercharged V8 goodness heard in stereo through side pipes... I've never driven around for so long with the window down.... :-) makes the GTR sound like a whipper snipper...

Spent the day running in the Alpha 12 yesterday. Have done a couple of hundred Km's on it now between the dyno and the track. Initial impressions are below:

At low RPM the Alpha 12 feels about the same as my previous engine when it was on boost (which was putting out around 650 - 700Hp at the wheels). After 3,500 - 4,000rpm all hell breaks loose and your you start to redefine the laws of physics, it is seriously quick.... the main powerband happens between 3,500 - redline and it just keeps on pulling. Traction (or lack thereof) is the biggest problem. The day out yesterday was really only to finish running the engine in (in total we did a couple of hundred km's between the dyno and the track).

I was running some old R888's and i was breaking traction in all gears up to 4th gear and could get the tail to step out at around 200 km/h in fifth which was interesting. Short shifting still managed to keep me in the powerband without stressing the engine to much.

Having all the power in the world is great but if you can't get it down it's pointless. With a fresh set of slicks on it I've no doubt that this will be an absolute weapon on the track.

Martin will no doubt elaborate on the power figures that we are seeing with this package but I can say that we are running a very conservative tune and I'd be scared to see what it is like when it is wound up.

I can highly recommend the Nevco trailer. First time out with it and it was a real pleasure to use compared with the old school tilt trailers etc. Being able to drive straight on and then lift the trailer via remote makes life very very easy. Can hardly feel the trailer when it is hitched up, great to tow and very stable.

that is a really cool car trailer

let us know when/if you're in melb next, would love to check out in person

can you do a 100-200 timed run and post it up

Do one for the GTR too if you can ;)

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
