Hi Guy's,

Thought I might offer this to you as I am doing the M35's.

you guy's will have to dictate the kit that you want though....I presume that your gearbox's are the ones below.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TRG-RE4R01A-HD2/

or

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TRG-RL4F03A-HD2/

I will buy these in group buy's to reduce the shipping cost.

Cost for install minus the kit will be about $200 to $250 and you bring your own oil + your car to me. I will look at the possibility of doing a mail setup like the M35's as soon as I can sus out the first kit.

If you just want the kit without me installing there will be an extra charge of around $30.

let me know your thoughts.

cheers

Craig

Do these give you sencond gear chirp like all the cool kids in their VN's?

I don't want something that is uncofortable to drive or more to the point, annoying to drive. Do you know of anyone who has used these kits in their C34?

.....I don't know if you with get the fully sic shift of the homodores as I have never owned one.

But I will tell you if you are thinking of cranking up your Hp this is has been a good choice for the m35's.... Shift is shorter and smoother at low rpm and much more direct under full power.

Your choice I'm just offering it!

Not sure if this will even fit a s2 sabbai... The S2 gearbox is RE401B - the part listed there is RE401a(series 1)...

What is the difference in the gearbox?.....is it just clutches or the Vb....I'll try and find a kit tomorrow as there was quite a few to choose from.

Like I said...just trying to help you out....the more info you can supply me the more chance I have of sorting it for you.

Not too sure the exact differences think somebody else may be able to chime in with the specs...

Either way your offer to help buy is appreciated jetwreck

From what I can find so far there are only these kits

http://m.summitracing.com/search?keyword=Transgo%20nissan

Any of these suit?

Will go to the transgo site tomorrow and have a bit more of a look....I have seen these gb's built to handle big Hp in the past.

Edited by Jetwreck

series 1 RE4R01A-good for 320ish rwkw with shiftkit

series 2 RE4R01B -good for 250ish with a shiftkit, then 320ish with kevlar clutches etc

so that would mean:

series 1 RE4R01A = http://m.summitracing.com/parts/TRG-RE4R01A-HD2

Blurb from the Transgo site.

Corrects/Reduces/Prevents: Planet burnup,

3rd clutch failure; Forward clutch burnup;

Soft 1-2 shift; Band burnup and low lube flow.

Has High-Temp, Low Shrink Sealing Rings.

series 2 RE4R01B = cannot find one on the Transgo site ( http://www.transgo.com/sk_nissan.php ) ......does anyone know of any other kits available?

this is true. a built S1 box can handle moar and are used in 800hp drag applications.

bubba destroyed a shift kitted uprated S2 box with ease.

I wish , i have destroyed several S.1 boxes, in my R31 that where built up,with 370rwkw, i then went glide..much better , the only real tuff box of the lot is the 3A, the rest are fairly so-so

MV's do the S.2- $385.00

use a RE4R03A gearbox with the transfer case from a RE4R01A which are available on 300ZX, patrols, pathys.

it can be built to handle 1000hp with uprated full manual valve bodies, transbrakes, billet servos, wider band, stronger clutches etc.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
