With massive thanks to Top Secret Imports and Project D Drift School, we had a ball today with a highly successful cruise to celebrate 15 years of the existence of the Nissan Stagea.

Our official photographer, Matt, will have some photos of today's event up too, but will be keeping some for our eventual article in Performance Imports magazine.

Many thanks to event co-creator Terry "Terry _GT-R34" for his help setting up the cruise, and SAU-NSW President Eric "Pezhead" and Vice-President Dave "Aggroman" for coming out in the morning to help make sure everything was running smoothly before we left. Thanks also to Terry and Matt "God_speed" for being my pilots for the morning run in the 260RS. It's very tempting to get some cams for that tough-sounding idle!

Congratulations to our award winners. Leon ("Commsman"), contact me for your prize - you'd already left when we gave them out...

So, if you have photos, comments, etc., post them up.

had to leave for work at beginning of lunch, who won the prizes? (lucky dream boats..)

Even with shitty rain hanging around all day we still had a great day and a nice cruise followed up by some damn fine steak ;)

Thanks to everyone to braved the weather to show their stag off to the world! I can honestly say I've never seen so many big stags in one place, not even in pictures on the interwebs. Good job everyone!! (Double thanks to those who cruised a million km's to be with us)

Another round of applause to Nick, Terry and everyone else behind the scenes who got idea up and running, then running so smoothly. It's a small job to get an event like this up and orchestrated so well.

This just in, In our endevours to reduce hoons on the roads we have removed the pesky illegal import car problem, however they have now taken to driving high powered noisy Volvo's.

We will continue our endevours to remove these menaces from our roads so you can feel safe driving your Camry at 55 in an 80 zone.

[/TodayTonight]

Seriously though....stop putting pics of nice Stag's up...Im beginning to want one.

Cruise looked good though

I'd like to add my thanks also. We had a great weekend & just arrived home after 8hrs of driving in the rain. Good to put faces to names & all that.

If I can speak for all the Execs since Eric (Pres), Nick, Dave, Sean & myself all took the chance to address everyone, this was a special day.

* the ladies had a great time

* it was a true family day with kids eating up the 15th Bday cake

* the sponsors were generous with their prizes

* it was extremely difficult to judge which of 22 Stageas should receive those prizes

* we had one of the best photographers in the business soaked to the skin & still getting the best shots

* PI magazine will be the better for it to show what Stags can really deliver

* the range of how Stageas can look from mean to just gorgeous defies any association with Volvos

* especially since one of the Stags today does 12.3sec on semis

* and lastly, the Stagea family is such a friendly bunch :)

PS Any pics of da CAKE???

Leon, send me a PM with your contact details - you won a prize but had already left when we did the presentation.

Sorry about that. PM sent.

nice post Eric and thanks for reminding me about that delicious looking cake that i forgot to scam a slice of!!

dagnamit!

I know that a lot of you confuse Terry and I since we are both distinguised asian fellas, but that was Terry

And Yes, Matt now owns Terry's prior Black R34 GTR. Nice grumble exhaust note on that car. Love it!

Thanks all for your participation and all the weeks of effort that went on behind the scenes to make this all look so effortless on the day. Sorry I couldn't make it for the cruise but the pics look absolutely fantastic!

Agree - bring on a picture of the cake.

^ Stageas aren't dogs to drive at all! ;)

There are two ex-Terry cars in that above pic, I've got the black 34 and Simon has bought the black rear wing with the bayside blue VS2 attached to it. :)

I found the link to Stageaa shirts & hoodies that I was telling a few ppl about yesterday.

Stagea shirts etc

I have no connection with this business, other than I bought a shirt & hoodie from them.

Thanks for an awesome day, the last Stagea cruise I went on in QLD only got 12 or 13 Stagea's. 22 is the most I have ever seen.

Hope to get in to Sydney some time soon to catch up with all the SAU NSW crew. Or if you are in the ACT, drop me a PM.

Congrats on the organisers for a great day, big thanks for your hard work!

VERY happy to hear that the roll-over was not stagea related, and that all was well. i saw the ambulance and the fire truck speed past on our way back.

    • What copper washer do you guys use on the bleeder bolts? The existing one I have I had no idea where to find it in a local store, I did buy some online but that are only 1mm thick whereas my old one is 2mm+ thick and when I put the new washer out and squeeze the top radiator hose I can hear a bit of air but not with the old one. Does this matter? The new one doesn't leak, but the inner diameter is a bit loose whereas the old one threads on the bolt.
    • Howdy all, after being out a few weeks ago on a spirited drive in my GTR I have 2 issues that oddly have appeared at the same time. Whilst accelerating quickly through the gears all of a sudden i’ve lost power at the top of third gear (below redline around 6000rpm) for no obvious reason.    From that point onwards the car has been running rich on idle, won’t really rev under load without a ton of black smoke and the odd backfire, and dying as a pull up to a set of lights unless I keep the revs up around 1500rpm. In addition when shutting down the car that same night (I was 10 minutes from home) I noticed one of the turbos was significantly noisy on wind down when shutting off the engine. After letting the car cool down overnight it starts up fine, although once it gets to temp the revs start to creep up and down, the exhaust is darker than it should be and it also sounds like it’s running rich (fat note) I’ve put a new set of plugs in it - no change, the old plugs all seemed OK with two of them being somewhat richer/fueled up than the other 3 with 1 being borderline. I’ve smoked tested the intake system via the front of the Turbos, found a split vacuum hose going to the factory boost gauge sender, which I have since replaced.  Also found another leak on the gasket coming off the rear turbo outlet, have also replaced this. After fixing both of these leaks - still have the running rich issue. I’ve also tried another pair of AFM’s - no change here After pulling off the front turbo intake pipes, there is obvious shaft play in the front turbo, which now hisses loudly on light revvs although I can’t see why this would make the car run funny even under idle. I’m curious to know why it’s running rich before I potentially replace/rebuild turbos. The car is completely stock <50,000kms  other than an exhaust. Oil and coolant are all clear. I haven’t bothered with coil packs as it looks like they won’t be the issue due to condition of the plugs. Any help appreciated as I cry myself to sleep!
    • No probs at all. I used to love trying to dig up obscure info for those in need where possible going back 20+ years on SAU.  I did have another look and couldn't come up with any closer match. I'm leaning towards those skirts in your first pic are custom fitments, cut down/extended or from another car entirely and modded to fit an R34 sedan. I would've thought someone in Japan had them and taken a photo at some stage over the last 2 decades but there's nothing. Someone out there must know surely.
    • Welcome mate. Any pics? Even with a DE I'd be well happy if I had that as a 1st car.
