what determines the difference between major/minor?

or is it how they feel

Might be how they feel?

I got a major defect for being too low. The lowest point of my exhaust was 5mm off the required 100mm.

Had to get a RWC and spend $500 fixing shit up that other workshops reckon didn't need fixing....

Forever my car now will be a 4wd and I will not lower it...

From memory there is a box on the sheet where they mark it as minor or major and I think most officers will do major if there is a few items that need attention. When I got done for HID it was minor...assuming a sensible officer, major would only apply to things like a serious safety hazard or numerous engine modifications.

Cheers guys!

Yeah when my friend was taking out all the shit to get to the sparkies he kept on saying luckily I have this tool, otherwise if you did this yourself at home it would be a bitch for you to get 'x' screw out.

I get jelly when I hear my friend changes his spark plugs in his s15 in 5 mins.

You could change the spark plugs in my Calibra in 5 mins. East-west engine, with spark leads that just pull straight off the plugs...and there they are. Unscrew old, screw in the new.

I believe it is the third note.

Driven past any Highway patrol cars yet Aaron? :D

yep.

yesterday night.. didnt even look

3 days prior.. who actually put the window down and said "nice car.. good to see you not drive like a dickhead"

theres nothing to defect in my car now since i put a return flow intercooler in.. it wouldve been the only thing..

110mm high at the lowest point.

none of this HID stuff.

wheels sit flush with no poke..

i dont think engine shock braces are defective. or colour lol.

maybe exhaust is a little loud but that doesnt worry me. im changing that soon lol

that said.. i dont exactly expose myself. drive to work and back. sometimes, or to the missus house.. otherwise she drives her mobile.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
