Ahhh...mine almost lapsed but I think I extended it by paying monies. I assume you'll have to sit the test again? I wonder if they would make you wait the 3 months before you can get fulls or allow you to do it straight away? Was on Ls for a few years before I bothered to get full licence.

Pretty sure I have to sit the Ls test again - but will check with vicroads.

I found out 12 months and 2 weeks after my Ls lapsed that you have 12 months to renew them...

Ye gold on black R1 - best colour IMO

Get the rims re-done with a gold lip - it'll look even more awesome :)

^^This bike (which is the same as the one in my avatar and funnily enough owned by the original modifier or Aarons S14) as you can see has the rims half polished, red rim tape on the seam and white around the rim. Very effective, matches the bike colour scheme perfectly and was cheaper than getting them fully polished.

For the R1 I wouldn't bother with the whole lip but rim tape would have the same effect for a small cost.

Nothing better than a personalised colour scheme that's still in the original colours.

Nooooo :D

I meant actually getting it painted (or power coated etc) with a gold lip.

Polished on black mehbee not look as good?

Especially with the gold on the forks, sticker etc. Polished might be too outta place

If i see the bike out front of work next week i'll snap a pic of the rims to example

read the stanceworks thread..... fkn hillarious.

idiots that have jumped on a trend because of sites hellaflush somehow think that other people doing exactly the same thing because of a magazine is wrong?

it's exactly the fkn same!

not to mention... it's not like those dude modify their cars properly anyway.... a defect for them is as simple as swapping rims and raising the thing... no epa, no vass etc

i don't think a magazine will change much at all

i bought autosalon magazine back in the day, it didn't make me want to put leather interior and eleventy billion TV screens in my car lol

the only problem with defects is if your low for long enough it becomes hard to get a RWC, i don't think i'll have much luck getting one with my chassis rails

All that happened was a few Americans ripped off the Jap VIP from the '80s, Westernised it, profited massively.

And now the "trend kiddies" or "band wagoners" have their knickers in a knot over someone else profiting...

Absolutely hilarious.

missus learnt how to drive manual today in her brand new RX8 GT she got yesterday.

VERY comfy car to drive

Nice, how does the RX-8 drive?

Always liked the interior, from what I remember from sitting in one at the Melbourne Motor show many moons ago :D

-_- That's why I was referring to the Suzuki and not the R1 with that particular change, I agree that chrome would not match the R1, which is why I said rim tape.

You wouldn't bother colouring the rim on something that's not a show bike because in all likeliness your rims are going to be scratched up by the mechanic at the shop next time the tyres are changed. This obviously doesn't matter with polished rims because there's nothing to scratch off but painting something is just going to mean you either need to not ride the thing, change the tyres yourself or be prepared for a redo every time you change the rubber.

That dirt bikes similar to what im looking for.. still not sure if i want the full motox version or trail spec yet

When we going on SAU vic road bike ride?

Well, trail you can do both, MotoX you obviously can't take out in the bush. In the end it's how you ride it that will make the difference on the track but I found the one time I went out to Neerim South for a day with my mates was far more awesome than doing circles in a race track, although that would have been fun too. I think it taught me more as well. Any dirt riding definitely compliments the road riding, although you do get a few more scratches/bruises/concussions :teehee:

Ride soon!!! When I sell my ute I'll be getting another road bike for commuting so there should be a few of us to catch up

    • Why are you so adamant on going M12? Why not follow Brad (GTSBoy) suggestion. You're talking moving from a 1/8" size, to a 1/2" effectively. 4 times bigger. Why skip the commonly available sizes in between? The bigger you go, the more likely you are to strip the threads out at a later date, as guaranteed, someone will put a huge spanner on the M12 and really tighten it up, and you're only in thin wall, so not a lot of threads to engage!
    • Hi. Yeah thanks. Car is already at tuners and it staying there to resolve "many" issues they do not like. So it is in a good hands. Getting a good tune on that Nistune ECU too so the car would be good. Just needs a little tune up and love.
    • Probably gonna remove manifold and turbo. I’m not sure if I can get M12 x 1.5 air tight. Could use high temp Loctite 246 or something similar, but I don’t know. Maybe it’s just best to remove everything again and weld an 1/8NPT on there instead.
    • Yeah, saw the ratios, not impressed. Would like the punch I have in the first gears now. With those ratios it won't be the same.  Also want the h pattern gearing, or at least a quiet gear set that don't need to come apart for service each year. Looks like the only "reasonable" way Is a 8hp70 transmission, but where is the fun in that🤷‍♂️
