we had quite a few girls doing engineering in my year (melb chem eng)

including one who we found out was a stripper at Bar 20 at nights...

yeah, would be a hell of a lot more in chem eng than mech id think

not many chicks interested in physics compared to chemistry

Mechanical engineering here.

It's tough, lots of contact hours, hardcore crazy !&@^$!@*%& maths....

Have to graduate with atleast 3months vacation/internship in the industry and do a final year project in your final year on a topic from your professors which needs to be researched and a thesis/ massive report. Mine was like 120pages without the appendix. Well that was from my uni atleast.

Quite a few people drop out in the first couple years, oh and don't think mechanical is anything like becoming a car mechanic. So many people think a mechanicAL engineer is a car mechanic.

Also, girls in engineering is like a needle in the haystack.

Yeah I'm not gonna be doing it haha. Ex is doing it (dat needle in dat haystack) at the moment and I was curious how prevalent the course was amongst car loving people.

Haha they're indeed a rare species in eng. In first year I remember playing spot the girls in eng lectures... surprisingly tough game :P

But nah there's a few about though from time to time, though. Just when you think about the sheer number of guys, it's not a wonderful ratio xD.

Got dam, what high school? Sure the 8 guys weren't teachers? lol

full srs

year 11

160 odd chicks, 8 guys

few more appeared in year 12, think we had 11 in the end lol

went to tintern ;)

^Rest assured if there is a girl in engineering, I will get her. <3 Ric

What'd you go to Marter Christi or something lol?

Psychology had a massive girl to guy ratio...most classes were 3 or 4 guys and 25 girls. Had its good and bad. Most of the pretty ones had dropped out after 1st/2nd year.

I actually do a double with arts, so I get my dose of girls from there. Generally a pretty good ratio, 2-5 guys out of a 15-20 people tute etc. so far.

Yay for variety :P

Edit: Btw that's some hs you went to bro, dat ratio!

Jelly brah, wish I had the cohunas to get out of this but feels like to much to give up

It sounds like you have a pretty good/successful job though, good reason to stay. That being said, if you've had feelings of wanting to leave, it just gets worse and worse down the track. I feel like I've wasted the last 3-4 years of my life and the only thought I have is why didn't I do it sooner.

Yeh people would say I'm crazy if I turned my back on my current wicket, but I've really achieved what i set out to do and 8 years in the same gig at only 26 years old is a fair effort I think, just feel like there is more out there for me...

I hope lol

Lots of engineering/electrical types here huh? Good, will be looking for new recruits/graduates this year.

I have worked here as automation/electrical design engineer for last 10 years. Expanding at a healthy rate 55 employees. I have a department to grow.

what type of grads are you looking for?

im currently in the hunt for grad work for next year (am finishing my mech eng degree)

Then you gotta move on, it will only get worse. No point being in a good job if you're tired of it. I got a mate who is earning twice what I was and he hates his job; it rubs off on his personal life. Truly is the most depressing person you can hang out with. But he refuses to change jobs / try something different because of his own expectations of success and those of his parents! Selling his soul / prostituting himself for the big bucks and yeah, he might be well off for the future but he's wasted so many years of his youth not having a good time.

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
