really? I never tried because I was told they're a shit version of Pancakes....

i'll take pancakes over waffles

but if you cannot have pancakes waffles are cool

but anything I can put maple syrup on I'm a fan of

haah nah the grills alone are going to be costing upwards of 8k each i believe :)

It's not being done on the cheap

Check out somewhere like Pete's Bargain Centre. They used to get heaps of new, used and surplus kitchen equipment, etc. in. My ex's restaurant bought loads of second hand tables and chairs previously from Crown Casino there. They also bought all the wok burners, kitchen benches, etc. brand new from there very cheaply.

Tried to get a test drive of the Toyota 86, failed.

Dealer want me to lay a deposit and be prepared to wait for 18-24 months for 30 grand Toyota, no thanks.

Nunawading Toyota? They declined my a test drive without a $2000 deposit and intent to purchase. The other dealers were all happy to offer me a test drive but no GTS available so I declined. Test drove a BRZ instead, weighed up the decision and the BRZ won for me.

Bingo, they demanded a deposit, who was the salesman?

I gotta ask, is it really that good to drive that 86/BRZ thing?

Haha, I knew it! Pushy to the point of being downright rude. They definitely turned away a potential customer. The guy's name was Ben. That night I laid down a deposit for the BRZ.

And yes, they are that good. Go to Subaru Docklands and test drive a BRZ. I wouldn't get a GT, but a GTS or BRZ will just be a personal choice. The interior, exterior and free servicing won the Subie over to me. The BRZ looks a bit classier, more refined and less boy-racer. Plus WRC Blue Mica is such a nice colour and you can only get it on the BRZ. I think resale is going to be better too.

dont go into the shop knowing what you want though, try them all on and get what feels best when shopping for helmets

My only requirement was a helmet :D didn't find one I could get my glasses into. Will have to try some more stores, but work is apparently not near anything and left it too late this weekend.

Pretty sure BRZ is closer to 40 same as 86 GTS.

86 GT is 33k driveaway, I've been quoted.

My biggest issue is will I 'live' with something is as powerful as my brothers Commodore - coming from string of Skylines, I don't think so plus I'm not prepared to wait forever for one.

got mine from peter stevens in CBD.

service was shit, but they had the range I needed to try things out.

arn't they closer to 40 on road grant?

or is toyota cheaper?

I optioned out my BRZ 6AT with Premium Pack (leather/alacantra heated seats), a rear diffuser and floor mats and came out at $42,225 including all on-roads. The equivilent GTS would have worked out a touch more expensive but would have had sat nav which I gave no f*cks for. And 3 years/60,000km free servicing on the BRZ ftw.

get in your delorean drop back 6 years...hit up deca..

or...maybe they will come back at the next deca I'm not racing at.

Someone please promise me that there will be wangy burger at deca in december???

Must suss this wangy thing out!

Same bloke I met today, he told me the power of 86 is 170kw when it's in fact 147kw...

Not sure if I'm prepared to stretch more for BRZ but given there's 13 months wait, I suppose I could save up a bit by then.

If all you want is a GT you can get one reasonably quickly provided you're not picky about colour. There's surplus at dealer because far less people want the GT. The manual GTS is where the huge wait lies, and the BRZ is starting to blow out as well.

    • So I'll put filler past the repair area a bit to make sure I don't miss anything. Then I'll block it until it's almost level, put the guidecoat, then keep blocking until it's gone. Then it's still wavy.  In regards to hitting the panel, I saw this video might give more context - Skip to 0:47 he knocks it down. But yeah I'm sanding until the guidecoat is gone then checking because otherwise my filler is still well above the bodyline. Unless what you're saying is I should put guidecoat around it early, surrounding the filler then stip once it's gone?
    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
    • Stop looking at the garage floor, and turn the radio up a bit louder if there's any strange noises...
    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
