So I managed to get the plenum off in the car and i've got the head off too, look what I found =D

That's normal for an RB, just put thicker oil in it and it'll take care of itself.

I put all sorts of 98 in my car and I can never tell the difference

Shell/BP/Caltex/Mobil all the same to me

Though I do prefer to fill it up at BP due to hearsay, but when there isn't a BP around I'm not fussed

i have tuned my car with shell once.... never again

we had to stop adding timing @ 267rwkw - changed to bp and got to 283rwkw with less knock

that's enough info for me

i'm not the first person to have less than favourable results from shell fuel

lol.

i will have to agree with hamish on this.

United 100 octane wins my vote though. that tad bit of ethanol goes quite a long way with reducing knock etc.

Cbr1000rr this morning with P plates...

Pretty sure that's legit...I think if you're still on your Ps for your car you have to display P plates on motorcycle, even if you've waited your year of restrictions.

Yep, had heaps of people pull me up on having P's on my Gixxer 750.

Honestly think it would be wise for them to increase restrictions until you're off your P's and keep the one year rule for people over 21. If car drivers have to cop it then motorcyclists should too. Plus all the <21 year old riders I know that aren't racing definitely can't use the power of those bikes correctly.

What was in the tank when you got your car tuned the other week? (Also how much did you make?)

Now that you're tuned, if you go to a Shell or Mobile etc and you do get a randomly low octane fuel, you'll know about it pretty quick ;)

Its been previously tuned with Trent when I had the nistune about 2 years ago.

It's on BP atm made 265rwkw on dying coilpacks

Going in for a retune on Thursday

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
