I meant more along the lines of having the phone in his face recording and reqesting him to re-test the height while you record

Well I was going too but he was debating whether or not to give me the High-Powered Vehicle fine for P Plates. I had my reasons for it and he eventually conceded that he wouldn't give me the fine. Fancy that, stiffing Pettett on a fine he so desperately wants to hand out. Still pissed though, don't get that fine so instead he reams me for a legal height car but still have to get a rwc. He's as big of a toss pot as people say he is, came up to my window and just took my license and didn't say anything. Absolute rude prick.

martin, if I were you i'd check out all the Arabs that live in your street to see if any of them are from Oman, and from that point, it's gotta be a 99% chance you have the pricks

* extreme racism in this post is nulified by the fact that the fraud on martins credit card includes 1st class airfares to Oman

you have to remember that driving through knox is potentially a $500 trip, so I would need a pretty good reason to go there.

Luckily it's a shithole so I never really feel the need lol

Time for an Evo Matt?

I don't really know bud, I'm tempted just to sell and buy an Excel or something for the next year and a half till I'm off Ps, escape the hassle of having to explain myself every time, but I don't know if I could drive a shitbox for that long either.. It's got me pretty down on modified cars though :( Try and do the right thing and Pettett comes guns blazing at you, ain't fun.

well part of the reason for moving here was the number of middle eastern folks.

I'll take them over the bogans I lived near b4, plus some of the food you get around here is awsome.

but we were discussing moving out to somewhere bigger as it was so that's moving higher up in the priority.

I still wouldn't drive my evo through knox unless it was a matter of life or death....

I've driven my ute through there totally roadworthy so many times....never had an issue.

on a plus note just have windscreen washers to fix up and hopefully it goes on the market soon.

middle eastern folk/food are fine, but if someone from your street is from Oman, I'd be having a good look at them lol

It's not like it's the most common country of immigration to australia

Not out of the equation, but there's not many cars that I can drive as a P Plater, then go all out when I'm off Ps as I don' t want to be Turbo Conversion-ing anything...

perhaps drive a P Plate legal car until you are off your P's and then sell and buy someone else's money pit?

clearly this is the smarter option unless you are desperate for the "romance" of building it yourself

Yah I'm thinking that, but if I'm going to buy a P Plate car I don't want to spend 8k on one, $5k max, maybe an MX-5 or something but then I'd catch the mod bug, there's nothing I wouldn't modify :( and it'd just be a waste of money.

I just realised that I have way too many shows I like, and not enough time to watch them all.

Diggin the hell out of Transporter the series (mostly cos I get rock hard greasy boners for the R8 and the A8 and nekkid french wimmins in it.) Hooked on Elementary (while waiting for Sherlock to restart... plus Lucy Lu), Perception, Revolution, Touch, Portlandia, Archer, Falling Skies, Franklin & Bash, Wedding Band, Game of Thrones, Grimm, Hell on Wheels, New Girl, Person of Interest, Once Upon a Time, Shameless, Suits, Thundercats, Walking Dead, Saturday night live.

Continuum, Magic City, Black Dynamite, Men at work, Happy Endings, Anger Management, 1600 Penn are also OK.

.... >___>

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
