greedy car companies want to operate on a profit. how dare they.

and the government wants to encourage local sales and bail out aus made cars owned by billion dollar international companies. and then get their fingers wet getting 33% tax on vehicles valued over $60-something.

Winton first time today. Off the top of my head.

Session 1: 2:03 - didnt know what I was doing

Session 2: 2:00.7 - slowly learning

Session 3: 2:00.9 - did same as last session. Didnt know what to do to go faster

Session 4: 1:57 - newbish friend helping me out with a few things I was doing wrong

Session 5: 1:55.5 - more experienced friend showing me lines for sweeper and s turn

Session 6: 1:53 - missus as passenger. Improving on what my friend pointed out with lines and braking

Not bad for sub 50 odd kw on re002 for first time. It has more in it as is. But no more track time. Will be back next time to improve! As is I think I can get 1:51-1:52 comfortably

Mate with same set up but with k24 e85 160fwkw was dipping into 1:42. Wtb mo powarh

Nick, Hamish + Aaron: Thoughts on owning an Evo as a daily / weekend warrior?

Thinking about going and test driving a couple of Evo 8s.

Evo 8 would be a nice daily, just remember if you go a jdm 8 check for rust underneath

Well it's either that or start considering 7s and get a nice dirt bike or something for some weekend fun. Heard them rodz aint so great though. How much power was yours pushing out Nick?

235awkw and don't want to push too much more, some people have but depends for how long

It's the torque that kills them and because they get on the power so quick they tend to die if they push big power on stock rods

its fine, not the best on fuel similar economy to a skyline, just be mindful of the less than huge tank for daily duties if you do a fair number of KM/week.

as for the power thing, mines making 250 on 98 seems to be going fine so far.

If you're planning on modding it heaps go 8. I prefer 7 though, cheaper, I like the kit, and wasn't planning on modding it much at all.

Definitely recommend as a daily (if u don't mind regular fuel trips because if tank size) or weekender.

But after driving Scotty's Stagea last night, I seriously miss my old one.... Much more than the evo

need to rack up some kms on the pulsar this month. monthly meet at Alvin's work?

Come reefton spurs cruise next week brah. :)

I still have a reaction video of me and two mates from when Scotty took us for a spin in it, bloody epic. :D

Last night my mates were getting out of the lancer and they were just like "so much better than your 34"

Dat four door lyf coming in handy (although as a driver, no f**ks usually given anyway)

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
