Had an awesome time at Deca, that Mega Mini Wang was amazing.

Wet skid pan was... interesting. So slippery! Jess and I will be back next year with my car for some more fun!

And as everyone else has said, thanks to all the volunteers for making the day possible.

ok well if no-one else will post pics...

Katie took a few on the day, in between helping out.

I think there space for another sticker somewhere

Great day...props once again to the organizers for making it run so smoothly...even with the new mega mini wang layout...as someone who's run a few deca days as well...i can only imagine how much planning and setup time was involved in making that happen...well done!!!!

Had an awesome weekend at Deca, the really wet skidpan made things very interesting but was heaps of fun. Really enjoyed the mega mini wang too, hopefully it stays in for next deca.

Thanks to the organisers and volunteers for all your great work!

Thanks to the Organisers and the Volunteers that made the day run as well as it could have. Especially for all those that slaved away in the heat on friday setting everything up for it to be wet on Saturday.

Mega Wang was good fun as the Navigator, but the time penalty for running it and the Long Wang would be massive if you had a typical SAU DECA field running on it; loose 1 minute/1 long wang run each driver run. It would work well as a replacement for Long + Mini and as a Long Wang replacement when it gets stupidly wet (far less chance of anyone having an expensive accident).

To those DECA organisers who are hanging up their competitor hats for the next year, thank-you for your dedication and for setting a very high bar for driver/organisers, lets hope some others can step up the competition to keep the Championship battles tight.

What's this about losing the results, did a Red Toyboata win an SAU event again ...

The results could go quite a few different ways. The weather plays havoc when its intermittent. They should be up by the end of the week along with the championship results.

So it worked out well that we didnt have a full field. With the wet and the mega mini wang it gave us the breathing room to organize the morning so it didnt run too much over time. We will look at running more of these longer style events in the future. (there are others to come ;)). We do need feedback though, we want to know what people think. We will always stay with the afternoon battles for those skid pan lovers out there. Always a winner.

Big thanks to our volunteers again and for Wayne who does an awesome job recruiting and organizing them! Its not often we get rain so a big thanks to all that stood out there for so many hours! And thanks to the usuals who help out on fridays setting up.

Heres some incar from the back tracks anyway. Last time the 180 will see the track for a while. Someone upped the anti ;)

Will be great to see how your car goes once you up the ante too ryan...you're blisteringly quick already...and again...great job running the day with the rest of the gang...the mega wang was a nice change but i'm not sure if you'll be able to run on time with a full field...time will tell...

Had an absolute BALL finally getting to drive instead of watching :) thanks heaps Russell!

Also thanks to the Friends/Girlfriends/Boyfriends/Wives/Gay lovers/Mr President and whoever else helped to run the day by volunteering; as well as those who organised such a sweet event.

110,000% from me, the mega mini wang was AWESOME...id definitely go down on it any day.

Great to see most out and about saturday night for some solid drinking and good times, and I dont care who does what next time but im seriously never giving tacos another chance ever again! RSL/McDonald win!

Cant wait to see some footage up from Russell's GoPro from the wangs. Was also really impressed with driving from Shane, Dave and a few others! The results will be interesting with a fairly wide spread of people laying down some 50-point times throughout the day.

I would also like to complain that the AWDs are cheaters and those who drive them have absolutely no skillz.

Thanks heaps to the volunteers and organisers!

Loved the massive mini wang!! Lol, skid pan was 'interesting' in the rain ermm.gif

Whipped out the camera pretty late in the day, but because of the rain didn't get many shots. They are mixed in with other pics in this album, feel free to tag away!

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
