The genuine tail light surround is a grey colour, it's much darker than your paint work and would look awesome IMO but it's personal taste. Are you looking at a set of JDM tail lights? Would look awesome. I've just rebuilt mine.

Yer im going to go JDM lights down the track, the tail light surround can always change colours later if i want. The lights look really good, starting to do some work on your 110?

The car has just been sitting for the last month around chirstmas-new years my work really gets flat out, hope to get back into it in the new year.

Cheers Brad

Yeah they came up good as new. Yeah slowly starting work on it. Pulling things off and doing them one at a time.

I'm trying to decide what to do with plastic that needs to be re-chromed. The GTR tail light rings I have need to be re-done and I'm not sure if it's just easier to buy a rep set or what.

Hmmm sydney weather is crap plus only have a single garage so work has been slow.

I got some new parts to fit up tho if we get a dry weekend!!!

And some parts already started to fit to motor in the one fine day we had this week.

Couple of things learnt today, first and most important is always ask before buying lol. And here are the rest.

240k and 240z do not have the same door handles.

Ebay photos looked close

But different shape and size

C110 and C210 do not have the same door locks.

Look the same from the front

But from behind the they are different, i tried changing the backs over but they are different too.

Installing this required more skin then i liked lol

Also 240z pedal boxs are not the same as as 240k, but the 260c looked about right but was not able to strip this car of it.

Nice fuel filler cap, is that a new one? What are you planning on doing for door skins and seat trim etc? I'm investigating re-trimming at the moment

Nar fuel filler is old one, i have a new breather tho.

My trim is mint, but if your doing a GTR style i may be keen, on a set too, what are you going to do with

the seats tho?

    • Hard to say, just pop the rocker covers off and have a look if you think it's cammed. You probably need to replace the valve cover gasket/half moons anyways.
    • From my youth: GTi-R clutch change is a massive pain. The gearboxes are fragile? But the car is super cool and I want one 😢

    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
    • heh, aint no R32 ever meeting modern targa cage rules unless the driver is veeeery short OP, good luck with the sale, since its already in the land of freedom I'm sure you will find a good buyer.
