Hi all, I hope this isnt a previously discussed topic, did search my best but probably missed it. mods please delete/block if already discussed.

I want to know if anyone has experience with this 'new'? pump from walbro, figures are impressive but is it going to fit and work in my 33 gtst?

I asked in another topic but wasn't really answered.

I have a 255lp/h one running somewhere around the 280-300kw mark with not a worry, but will be heading to about 340-350 ish soon, i dont have a problem with buying a nismo or anything but for the money can one of these exceed?

So, opinions? http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.asp?ic=F90000262&eq=&Tp=

Cheers

I know right, seems ridiculously large flow, but even granted that it most likely wont flow that, should surpass what ill be using it for. Interesting read that thanks.

With those numbers it should support monsterous power... Sounds too good to be true

Ever heard of anyone trying one?

Maybe ill be a guinea pig unless there's a reason why not to give it a red hot go?

**CORRECTION**... Looking @ the graph again on the link, it's @ 14v/70psi with a claimed 320LPH :O

I'm even more dubious now, and would certainly like to see these tested independently.

The problem is all manufacturers claim/rate @ different levels, voltages, pressures etc. It's always hard to compare upfront.

I try to work towards 70psi as a "marker" and using 14v. Of course sometimes you have to improvise as figures are only supplied with 13.5v or 14.2v etc.

Anyway the reason behind "70" is the base. Which is what, 38-42 psi.

So +25psi of boost is 60-65psi. Round it off to 70psi and it should cover off most situations, or if you wanted to bump rail pressures running say 20psi and get a bit more out of injectors.

its about time they did something, the previous pumps are JUNK, these days I won't even let a car on the dyno if it has a walbro pump.

No matter what happens they allways eventually fail or they NEVER flow enough. I hate them with a passion they cause me soo much grief.

We put 2 in a supra, and after 3 weeks one just stopped working and it toasted the engine.

Would have to see how this goes, im going to order a few and try them.

I feel your pain mate...

My Walbro has been slowly dying in the arse (less than 2 years old and 10k's) after recent power upgrades - it cannot keep up with 250rwkw@14v

There seems to be people happily running these numbers with them (e.g. dyno results thread)... but also just as many with problems these days!

Fuel supply is not something I want to leave up to chance... god knows what damage has already been done (hello knock!)

P.S Just purchased one of these 300lph Deatschwerks to replace the Walbro:

http://www.prospeedr...GTS%252dTs.html

It flows the same as an 044 and is a drop-in, in-tank replacement at a lower cost.

Anyone got any first hand experience with these new pumps???

Also would the Deatschwerks 300lph pump support a 400-450rwkw gtr on e85???

Not a hope, considering you will need 1000cc injectors at a minimum, x6=360lph, but that flow is not at the pressure that you will need (approx 70psi)

Got my new pump today... looks little. but where impeller is is huge... wont know how it goes till next dyno run next month

Possible you could test it? Similar to the link earlier???

Would be VERY handy, and could include it into SAU Reviews :)

    • Yeah I also looked at Plazmaman, but, it ended up alot  cheaper getting black ones through EFI when you also added in the delivery cost
    • Nice shot! They look super clean. The roof rack delete on the black one is interesting. Would like to see more pictures from different angles. It's subtle but could make quite a difference to how the car looks in profile.
