I'm very keen, but I'm little worried about a very small oil leak I have (about 3 drops of engine oil every time I park).

I'll call the track tomorrow and see what they say, if its no worries, I'll pay tomorrow.

highly unlikly youll pass scruteneering at the start of the day :(

you still got 10 days, to fix it up mate, cant see where its coming from????

it may be 3 drops now but runninf at max temp could spit the seal right out and make it 3 litres and delay the fun for probly an hour.

its lots of fun mate i reccomend fixing it up and coming along :D

I would speak to the guys here running the day. It's not the track that will check your car its the SAU scrutineers.

SAU does the scruitineering on the cars. You'd be surprised that when you go to a speed off the streets day (or some other clubs) scruitneering works on an "HONOR" system. Personally, I have great peace of mind that the SAU boys look over the cars to ensure it is basically mechanically sound.

(Back on topic)

Have a look where it is coming from under the car. Might just be a drain plug washer or something simple. A few drops during a whole day of sitting isn't really too much bother from a scruitineering point of view, but if we look under your car and the whole underside is coated in oil then we probably won't give you a pass.

Mechanically you are responsible for your own car so you have to appease your own peace of mind if it is going to be ok.

Oh, and Martin there's no timing so we just put the cars into groups (a colored sticker on your car) there are no car numbers so run what ever you like :).

My father and I have pulled half the engine apart trying to fix the leak.

We've replaced all sorts of seals and shit trying to find it, no dice.

I've already done a track day with the car and it was fine, just the same few drops of oil every time we came in.

It really is just a few drops, I don't need to top it up between oil changes. And I won't have time to pull it apart again before the track day.

(The car is mechanically sound anyway, I use it every day for work, not the least bit worried about this damaging it)

Anyway, cheers for the feedback.

Knowing how little oil is coming out of it, do you think I'd get knocked back?

Again, thanks for the very helpful feedback

    • All 3 I guess. The car came with the JASI Aero 4 door Type R Full Kit unpainted so this was one thing at the top of my list to complete then I noticed there were body panels parts for this kit so i picked them up along with some black mesh to fill in the front bumper and front side air vents. car is at a paint and body shop atm completing this work. Next I will be addressing the internal bells and whistles, great summer project I can do with the kids.  full interior removal - ,boys car sound deadening - pads and spray ,boys stereo, sound, lighting - Big 3, GTT or bigger alternator ,kids head lining - dye black add star lighting mod ,daughter. That's it for the next 5-6 months. I have some motor maintenance  work i have to plan out. oil filter relocation, gaskets, mounts. beyond that, mind is starting to turn over if i can use a DET intake plenum, block off turbo ports & pipe in a air intake.
    • roller coaster of a ride. Alarm system was removed & main harness was repaired where possible. still no fix just random successful starts. moved on to the replacing the ignition switch and relay. well all this troubleshooting & repair has been going on, the car is at a paint and body shop being pushed around. • I think he was only proposing to use the wire, not the sender. Simply because it runs from the right place to the right place. Personally, I wouldn't hack up the factory wiring like that. I'd just lay in the Defi loom.
