Why couldn't they have just moved from the VL to the XR6 turbo and be happy with them.

venetians and remove front shafts. then 2 speed powerglide.

Because you are not Lebanese?

Oh I went there.

Ha ha ha. You guys.

Funny

On this topic, just a question, aren't the guys in Queensland still the record holders for the fastest GTR with 4wd, a 26, and H pattern? 7s from memory.

Don't get me wrong I love an angry Rb big cams, laggy single and a H pattern box doing 9's.

This smoothed engine bays and auto conversions not so much.

Me too. Just have no love for the 2wd auto conversion. Just get a normal skyline or falcommodore if you want to do that. Edited by XGTRX

The auto conversions are still 4WD, each to their own, I don't mind dragging to see what improvement the latest mods have made and for some shits and giggles but track is life

Come on Piggy get this thing finished already, there are tracks that need tearing up

Time for an update.

due to time constraints and the ever looming beer bottle, the car got taken to Grim Performance at Hornsby to get the exhaust done amongst a whole heap of other stuff.

- Exhaust completed.

- Individual EGT on manifold.

- Post turbine EGT

- Exhaust gas pressure sensor

- Pressure and temp pre and post compressor.

- Rear subframe has been out. All bushes have been replaced including diff bushes.

- Nismo GT Pro diff has been turned down to soft. Cranky unit!

- New steering race has gone in. Car slipped off a jack and busted a nob off.

To be done.

- Install and plumb fuel system with -10 Teflon braid lines.

- ECU change. Blackbox is gone, Emtron KV8 going in.

- Airbox.

- Strain gauge for sequential.

- Install V cam.

- Tune.

Ive had the Step 2 264 at 8.7 mm cam (WTF am I gonna do with a fairy penguin 8.7mm of lift) reground to something that's a bit more aggressive. Not sure of the exact grind yet but I will know soon enough. Something around 265-270 with 10.2-10.4 mm of lift.

Gate merge. This photo looks funny. The merge looks very sharp but it isn't really. Must be the lighting.

Reason for this?

Will it chirp second?

I said jokingly "is there anything else you'd like to measure."

that was the answer. It's all got to do with measuring what the turbo is doing.

Getting the notification that this thread had new posts feels like a fun and rare experience now, funny as I've probably been following it for YEARS and Piggaz was a nameless face that I'd never seen in Ozziland.  Now it's a car and a person I know and there is more appreciation for the epic research, thought, development, alcohol consumed, hangovers, work, BBQs and alcohol consumed involved in getting it to this stage that it's particularly exciting seeing it get to this stage.  Very excited to see it getting near being ready to run again!

PS.  You shouldn't ask questions you may regret if they're answered :P

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
