Topic name is "Are you a PC or a Mac User?" Not Apple Vs android Vs Samsung.

But to add to that, Samsung make a very good phone but everyone has to admit that this is gay:

http://www.smh.com.a...0823-24njn.html

Everything down to the store layout to the blue shirts but their shirts are just a little lighter than Apples. Fail. So Samsung owners will now be "pretentious" like iPhone owners. Sad but thats what they are trying to be :(

But i find it strange that 90% of the people who have a bit of technical knowledge will go round to family members houses / friends houses fixing typical Windows issues again and again to then turn around and go oh yeah Apple computers are shit.

You cant really be that obsessed with Windows to think that Apple computers are not good for a person who has no knowledge about computers at all.

If you don't know shit about Computers Apple computers are more simple to use (get over it you know they are more simple you can at least admit that). If you know your shit and can fix your own problems then get Windows or Linux or something.

There are reasons why Windows is good and why Apple is good there are also reasons why Apple is bad and Windows is bad. Both types have there different uses and there own target audiences. If you were a bigger business with 100 computers it would be silly to pick Apple. If you were a couple in there 70s trying to get there head around computers Apple might be a better option.

Different horses for different courses. Pros and Cons for both.

Another iMac here has eaten shit. 24" less than 2 years old. Doing exactly the same as the other one which bit the dust recently; locking solid with no option but to hard reboot. Did a Prime95/Real Temp test and one of the cores was sitting at 93 with the rest at mid 80s.

We only have eight Macs in the office (and twenty eight PCs) and the score is 2-0.

Why the need for the macs at the office? Would be way easier to get them all running on the same system rather than the few odd ones out, would be annoying.

Developers and arty farty people have them.

The developers need OS about once a year (they run Windows 99.99999999% of the time) and for some reason arty farty people are incapable of operating windows based machines.

Couldn't possibly be because the software they need is Mac only could it? :whistling:

I highly doubt it these days, the whole macs have more power for graphic design bla bla is a load of crap. To get the true benefits of mac you need the whole iWank ecosystem, phone, laptop, network gear the whole lot.

Macs are great for non tehcnical people, much like my phag friends who don't drive manual because it requires too much effort.

And on topic, I actually use both. PC and Lappy for home and a mac air when I need a keyboard and not at home. Both have their benefits and draw backs.

Also mac air > iPad. 13" book is the same size but has a keyboard, more power, storage and external ports

Nope, there's nothing they use which isn't Windows compatible.

I agree with. I've tried to need a tablet to the point of taking the work ones home for a few weeks (and for all intents and purposes it was mine for that time) but I simply don't get it. I'm far more inclined to take my lappy with me if I'm going to be mobile and if I'm at home it's either my phone or desktop that I use. It simply didn't change even when i had full access to a tablet 24/7.

While I want a tablet, it's not strong enough for me to go out and get one and the more I try to need one the more I think they are bullshit. The only time I could see an absolute need for one is when I'm sitting on a train which happens maybe once every 6 months. Once my wife goes back to work I may have to catch the train a couple days a week (so I can do a baby shuttle between the grandparents and our house) so would get one, but outside of that I've failed to see the reason why.

Its the whole want vs need thing, damn advertisers and their sneaky subliminal messages

I have a GTR but I don't actually need one ;)

Yeah, but your GTR is useful. I have yet to find a use for a tablet that my desktop or lappy don't do better.

Would you buy a Commonwhore if you had an M3 and a 916 in the shed at home?

Tablets are great but need a keyboard. I have an iPad with a Logitech ultra thin KB, it's sweet.

Laptops typically have worse battery life, and worse screens.

Good thing about my iPad is its pretty much a laptop until I detach the keyboard and then its a tablet again.

Wouldn't try to get any serious work done on it, but for what I use it for (uni, email, games, movies, books) it's farking perfect.

Notice how all the windows tablets are coming out with keyboards? :)

    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
    • @GTSBoy yeah sorry i know thery are known for colors bud those DBA are too in colors 🙂 Green will be good enough for me
