what the F is with that Micra? Looks faster than the silver R33 with the dark bonnet.

Screw you man... i had lag issues...

freakin micras @#%#%^^%^

This is cool. The telemetry system is awesome

yeah i want that, how much are those going for now?

^Saw a bloke from Canada trying this camera angle and thought I'd give it a go. Shame about the sound though, I just can't get a good 'wind proof' setting

That is why I got the Contour+ edition, external mic port and even just a $9 jaycar mic makes a massive difference.

hmm it says you got a 3second penalty on that run? In fact the final results on natsoft includes all the fastest times without penalties applied, so if one were to plough through every chicane and do a 1:15 they would be 1st on the results sheet. Who is gonna volunteer to work out the real final results?

Commentary looks like it has been carried over from Run 6 (the lists on the two pages are identical) - my best time was on run 5 which had no penalty applied.

anyone get vids of the dirty smoking MX5 that turned up near the end of the day to rip heaps of skids but also some stupid fast times? that guy sure made up for the late arrival..

heres my Facebook gallery

no action shots as it was just me walking around the pits in between runs but almost every car should be there..

(also add me to FB ya kents!)

FJ720, great run in the micra, I reckon you wrung pretty much everything it had out of it

Luke, don’t worry too much about the hoses, just buy decent clamps. And the wider ones are not better.....narrower ones clamps harder.

Excellent driving James, that was damn good car and throttle control…it has more than enough power for such a tight course. And the camber and toe changes you can see on the rear facing camera are terrifying, I can see why Nissan moved on from semi trailing rear arms.

Ben….lol thanks for posting up that video….you can tell the “before I looked at the temp gauge” and “after I looked at the temp gauge”. I took a quick look just before the jumps, saw “H+++” and backed off :( Ran much cooler after I put some water in the radiator though

Mick…those tyres were f**king excellent. Please don’t tell anyone about them.

Only 1 video made it, the same horrible run Scott’s guys got, it was about 1.29 (tip, 3rd gear is not quicker through the last corner :( )

I welded my clutch onto the flywheel with my last launch, I guess you could argue that raising the rev limit to 8,500 just for the launch was a little unwise. Made it interesting to get on and off the trailer, and move around the yard – thanks to Ben, Zebra and Prue for helping load it up afterwards

Yeah i'd love to see some vids of the dirty smoking mx5 too!! :D

I had 4 runs, blew off a cooler pipe on one, spun on another, my walkthrough was another but the second lap I had was pretty clean (albeit mainly sideways) ! Netted a 1:31 which wasn't too bad for the smokey ol girly car! The oil appeared to subside after the event and today it was a fair bit more tasteful!

Yeah on the timing we used electronic timing for the first time (as you all saw), a few bugs need to be ironed out and as this was the first time using these guys at an event like this (we have used them for Wakefield and Eastern Creek over the years), I think it went really well. Dave (or "Timer Dave" as we call him to not get confused) was really great throughout the day and I'll happily book Timer Dave for any other events I can.

The downside to using the electronic timing is that theres so much functionality on the system Timer Dave and I need to figure out a few things which will be easy as now he's seen how a day works and I know how the timing gear works.

I'll get him on to the penalties and ask how to update Natsoft etc and next time include them in the Natsoft times straight away :)

Sorry about that guys, other than that I think the day went well

video is unavailable duncan..still processing post upload?

nice to see you on here Rorge, some epic driving there. Love your run it into the ground attitude as i pretty much do the same thing..

heres a shot post cone strike on my last run.

wish i got video of that mx5 spinning out...

ive got little snippets of most of the cars up the top later in the day, uploading to utoooobe as i type.

soon my pretties, very soon.

the day went super well....Had a great day,

the track was super fun and is like nothing else around, its awesome to get the times on your phone through the day.

Was pretty happy with my time for a big wagon no launching and tight cone placement, will have a in car video up soon.

Big thanks to the organisers who put in heaps of effort in as well as the volunteers including my brother who spent most of the day replacing cones we all sent flying.

    • That's not a transistor --- it's marked ZD1 which makes it a zener diode. As to what the breakdown voltage is, not enough there to divine.
    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
    • The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.
    • It's almost certainly the same as the one next to it. • South Australia, which is hardly as far behind as the rest pf Oz makes out, and who is also not a paragon of progressiveness (read that as over-legislation) in the area of vehicle standards, has this to say on the subject: Adjustable coil-over suspension Aftermarket adjustable coil-over suspension components are suspension units that incorporate an external thread on the main body and corresponding threaded spring saddle that allows the vehicle's suspension height to be varied. If fitting aftermarket or coil-over suspension components you must submit an Application to modify a light motor vehicle form and a report from a light vehicle engineering signatory (LVES).
