just purchased a walbro intank good for 500hp, pretty sure its plug and play, just need to hold it in with a cable tie apparently. jeez

Cheap Walbro GS3442 does it for me- just do the direct 12V rewire.

These bigger pumps pull a lot more amps, not sure what the stock fuse size is but a pump like the walbro 400/416 can pull over 20 amps which is way more than the stock wiring will cope with.

I wired a 416 up the other day (used 6mm to/from relay and 2.5mm in tank) then to test I used a bit of 0.5mm wire about 50mm long to bridge the relay, it fried the wire and went open circuit after 30 seconds.... I have done that same test with bosch 044's and 040's with no issues...

If the circuit is protected by the standard size 15A fuse then its unlikely you will burn anything apart from the fuse itself...

Be interesting to see what voltage the pump is seeing on your setup with stock wiring, i'd say you would be very close to the limit. Might be an idea to carry some spare fuses!

yeah maybe its not stock then, i watched it being wired and put in by the tuner

interesting though, my battery light is on constantly and tuner said voltage is bit high, sitting on 15volts so must need a new reg or alternator, you'd think it would of blew a fuse by now.. have to look into that..

the 400L/hr pump is much quieter than the 255L/hr that it replaced, kind of miss the noise....

Wow that's a pump, over 5l/min at 80psi - that's awesome!! Anyone tried one or got a cost?

Sorry just read the thread - have you tested the return flow to see if it matches the specs?

pump arrived today, hopefully fit it on the weekend, someone told me to put a 1 way valve in? but i don't really see the need. anyone else thinks it will help? i might need to pocket a roll of cable tomorrow at work, so wire from the rely in the fuse box down to the pump, do you route the wires the same as factory?

yeah i was thinking gtr pump, but i wanted something brand new and affordable.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
