^^agreed, its a stupid tight apex with only one car width at the best of times, dunno how hdr expects a f1 car to pivot 90 degrees drive forward a meter then pivot 90 degrees again in order to leave a space for a 2nd.. Perez said it all I cooked my brakes cause im young, impatient and trying too hard to prove myself at a new team because everyone doubted my ability.

I rate kobi over perez anyday back at sauber, didnt win the 1-2 races but kobi was almost always a higher grid position, drove like a mad man and if he overcooked it he only hurt himself (maybe one incident contrary) and was consistently in the top 10 for the half the season or more.

seb now with a 15-25 point lead in the champ I believe which is a pain in the ass to come back from for kimi, it was about this time that alonso had to step it up big time to catch vettel last year was it not?

Overheated brakes was the reason for Perez's retirement, and the cause of his issues in the last two braking areas immediately before stopping. Seems fairly obvious... That had nothing to do with the Kimi incident.

And that was the most reasonable of your comments about the crash and what Perez said. Won't bother addressing the rest.

Are we all forgetting how hard it is to see out of a Formula 1 car? To 'know' exactaly where Perez was at that point is asking a bit I think. It really depends the last time Kimi looked in the mirror. They did only touch rear wheel to front wheel so there wasnt much in it.

lol if Kimi didn't think Perez was going up the inside, why was he defending that way so hard?

and Perez had telegraphed that move with another attempt there not long before, remember...

It wasn't very Kimi-like at all. He normally plays the percentage game, but he mentioned something about a previous race where Perez ran him off the track, so that's obviously a factor here. And was on the radio earlier just giving Perez a spray for being an idiot. I think Kimi let it get personal. This was much more Senna-esque than Kimi-like. Only difference is that Senna would have actually punched him in the face after the race rather than just saying it. Senna was known for introducing himself like that to new guys who had the audacity to pass him. lol another thing that didn't make it to the movie of old St Senna...

He needed to though. Its a long season and if there is a guy only out for fame from a move or a single race then it can hurt his championship. Perez likes some of the rough stuff which is fine with me. But there is rough stuff and dangerous stuff. I dont know what is worse, Perez doing it as a strategy or Romain doing it being absent minded :(

Anyway, Kimi has at least given Perez something to think about next time Perez thinks he can muscle Kimi.

They say they chose Perez because he is good and has potential to be even better. Kobi had shown what he was capable of and there wasnt any potential left. As it stands seeing them in the same car for two seasons and Perez in a McLaren alongside Button for a season I think Perez may be at 95% rather than the 65% that McLaren had hoped and on merit Kobi is ultimately the better driver. Suppose McLaren will be on the lookout for Kimi as well as Red Bull and Lotus

I will add that I was reading that Bernie is trying to sweet talk Renault in again taking a steak in Lotus as it looks like Williams are going to Mercedes for next year. Bernie telling Renault they get far more exposure at a race meet with corporate facilities etc rather than Lotus being Lotus and RBR being Infiniti RBR. Lotus Renault does sound good but seems rather far fetched though having plausible foundations

Alright, ignoring the Kimi incident, I think Perez is getting TOO aggressive and needs to tone it down a touch. I'm all for good racing, but we dont need another Maldonado running around. Agree to Disagree and all that, Looking towards the next race :)

Speaking of Maldonado. Outqualified and out-raced by his rookie team mate again. F#@! his sponsorship money, he is probably costing them more in car repairs anyawy. Kick him out and give a better driver a chance Williams

Be interesting to know if Massa will be ok for Canada. His crashes were very strange and from what I have read none are the result of car failure :( Be good to see Kobi come in as a super sub but reality is it will make more sense for Pedro to come back . He did the Pirelli test earlier in the eyar, knows the team and simulator etc. Big picture makes more sense then putting a guy who doesnt know the team, the car or the tyres and team workings in for a GP or two.

Car failure caused Massa’s second crash F1 Fanatic round-up

In the round-up: Ferrari confirm Felipe Massa’s second crash at Sainte Devote was, unlike the first one, caused by a car failure.

Car failure... please. We're not all that simple and naive

Two identical crashes... IDENTICAL... one caused by this mysterious "problem on the left front corner", and the other driver error?

They may be able to kid the idiots in America and Italy, but I'd like to think we're all a little more sceptical here

Clearly Ferrari are trying to keep the pressure of him because he will crack under the media spotlight and ruin yet another constructors tilt for them

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
