Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays. I just got back to NSW from a week in Melbourne with family.

Just so happens I was on the Hume, in Victoria, overtaking a couple of trucks doing around 110kms in my missus I30. Next thing you know a R33 flys up my ass doing about 140kms thinking that he can sit up there about 3cms to push me doing his speed. I wasn't going to have it so I slowed down to 100kms to match the truck's speed, and he really hated it. When I let him go, he thought it be a great idea to cut the truck and then me off, to then brake to cause and accident. Well lucky I had my wits about me and didn't but slowing down to 60kms in the right hand lane of the Hume is the best idea this guy had.

I really don't care, what really gets me is that the truck drivers were parsing me for doing what I did and no doubtlessly thinking another dick head in a skyline. Things like that ruin out reputation and being a proud owner of a better skyline then this bloke (r32 gtr) it hurts.

So if anyone sees this guy, don't be afraid to tell him to f**k off to a commode and stop ruining our reputation. I will be posting this in the VIC and NSW forums because no doubt he was off to summernats.

The car is a blue r33 gtst with a white flame decal on the bonnet and stupid cartoon fast and furious crap down the sides. And the license is Ytb 465 Vic plates.

Cheers guys for all the support.

If only I can say the same for the Vics. I think they took it as a pot shot at them.

Mexicans!!! oh sorry, you're from South of the Border too. ;)

It's kinda weird, I was speaking of this just tonite. You get the odd Knobend Skyliner being a dick, when they should be in their full sick Commos but from what I've seen, most of the SAU folks seem to be level headed and courteous. At least in the ACT anyways.

Guess it's the difference between being a hoon and an enthusiast.

You should move.

Stupid khunt. Never seen that car around so you're likely right it isn't a local....however if I do happen to see him around I'll be sure to flip him off good and proper.

Hahaha I just had the best mental picture of this dude having a great day, then randomly getting flipped off by you, and wondering why the universe hates him.

...but we all know why

You don't have VIC support cause your a dick Alex... You cut people.off then slow down to prove your point...you are as much of a problem as the guy you cut off ,a smarter mature driver would move out of the way to prevent further escalation of a bad situation, but you are an antagonizing asshole ... looks like most of the ACT is too..

2 wrongs don't make it right as you have just proved..

Yeow!

All the angry pants need to chill out a bit.

Just drive safe, no one needs to prove anything, like who was in the wrong.

That should be a given if you have a drivers licence.

Even be safe on the track, cant wait to get on the track myself and enjoy my skyline.

AND you Vic guys dont know what its like having the summernats diks EVERY year.

Yeah, good call artz. we're all assholes. Cock.

He was already in the righthand lane overtaking.

Tell me that if you were doing the same and someone flew up up your arse

and dangerously tailgated you, you wouldn't do the same.

The other guy was in the wrong on both accounts, there is no law against doing 10km under the speed limit

Just spend 5 minutes driving in Canberra and you'll realise that!!

Does my head in.

I see more f**kwits driving Skylines than I see issues with "Summernats diks" every year.

It's 4 days of year. People in Canberra need to stop complaining about EVERYTHING otherwise we will have no events here full stop.

Artz - most of the SAU guys in the ACT are pretty cool.

110 over taking is fine in my books.

What is not cool is sitting up someone ass tailgating and then getting in front and slowing down rapidly. Never going to end well.

I agree that if your in the right lane and someone is behind you then move over.

If your overtaking just do the job and move over and let other traffic by. As quickly and as safely as you can.

Yes in the ACT we have pricks that sit in the right hand lane all day and it makes me angry.

To quote you ARTZ and agree with 90%

Friendly raging is OK ya bloody mexican - bur dont tar everyone with the same brush : 2 wrongs don't make it right as you have just proved"

and I'll say my piece again before you wish to requote me

farkin arse hole - sphincter suckin bitch

Agree "dude, hume (Highway) in victoria, says it all!" that and summer nats - adding summerants bogans from interstate.

I'll find you a link from last year of a white 33 from interstate for Summernats

There is a law against just staying in the right hand land.

Common courtesy would be to move over to the left hand lane, cept OP decided to stay in the right hand land and antagonise the driver behind him

There wouldnt be a situtation if OP just moved over to the left hand lane as you are supposed to and required by law

Well having lived in nearly every state in Aus I can tell you that ACT drivers are nowhere near the worst drivers. If anything they are more cautious than other states with the slightest drop of rain causing many to drive 20km's under the speed limit.

There are bad dangerous drivers in every state though.

    • Just wanted to unearth this and post my baby with the new front ❤️😝 Took her to my wedding rehearsal today. Next up is getting wide skirts (after wedding)
    • Yea, that is what I was getting at in my ramblings too. The nismo one actually is a 1.5 way and a 1 way. They don't do a *2* way because a true *2* way would have equal ramp angles. Or is that a true 1.5 way? Realistically I think a "1.5 way" does not actually exist. A diff can either lock in two directions or one. It also doesn't help that a LOT of people in Australia speak about 1.5 way diffs are referring to their 1 way diff.
    • Well, the trouble with that ^^ is: The configuration shown is absolutely a 1-way, not a 1.5-way. There is no way that a 1.5-way can be said to offer LSD action only on acceleration. If Nismo cannot get that right, then it is impossible to believe their documentation. That ^ is not a 1.5 way setup. That is a 1-way.   And so now I have allowed all doubts to flourish and have gone back to look at the MotoIQ video. I originally made the mistake of believing him when he said "this is a 1.5-way" at the ~6:10 mark. Because what he did was take the gear assembly out of the 2-way opening and just rotate it one place to the left to drop it into the 1-way opening. When he dropped it in there, the cam was "backwards" compared to the correct orientation shown in all other photos of that config. The flat shold have been facing the 1° ramp side of the opening, not the 55° ramp side. And I thought, "gee that's cute", but I was concerned at the time, when he put the other ring back on, that the gap between the rings looked like it was wider then in the 2-way config. And then I said a lot of things in my long post on Tuesday that could only make sense if the guy from MotoIQ was correct about what he'd done. BUT... I have now done my homework. I grabbed a frame of the video with the 2-way config, and then grabbed another with the "1.5-way" config, snipped out the cam and opening of that frame and just pasted it direct on top of the 2-way config. I scaled it so that the triangular opening was almost exactly the same height in both. AND.... the gap between the plates is wider with the cam installed in the triangualr opening backwards. That is.... it cannot go together that way. There would be massive force on the plates all the time, if you could even reassemble it.  So, My statement on the matter? The Nismo diff is actually only a 2-way and 1-way. There is no 1.5-way option in it, regardless of what they say. Here's a photo of a real 1.5-way ramp opening from Cusco (along with the 1 way option). And the full set of 1 through 2 way options from their racing diff, which is not same-same as what we'd typically be using, but...the cams work the same. A little blurry, but it comes from this Cusco doc, which is quite helpful. AND.... Cusco do in fact do what I suggested would be sensible, which is to have rings that do 1 and 1.5, and 1.5 and 2. Separately.
    • Welcome Adam. Car looks great!
