there are always cheap shells rolling around...I'd talk to Brad or Fatz in the first instance, they both keep their ears close to the ground. An excellent 33 gtr roller with lots of good stuff was just sold cheap....but that doesn't really help you.

that was probably the one i was looking at..

I have a 32R at work at the moment which is being parted out and the owner does want to sell the shell.

It's a touch rough around the edges and has a 4130 drag type cage in it. Could be cut out and Redone easily enough.

i have a r32 gtr sitting here doing nothing too but i really want to build that as a street car.

i liked that r33 rolling shell because it had a cams approved roll cage and it had been compiled and previous registered with the cage in nsw and it looked really clean.

+ i have a r33 gtr donor car i could use for parts.

but i'll keep your car in my mind thanks.

I think more threads like the dry sump one would be beneficial to create conversation and information.

Threads would have to be specifically Motorsport orientated.

Kinda like the Bruce ducting thread and the cooling thread that are going at the moment in other sections

Where are these threads now as they are the exact sort if things that are motorsport orientated that we could all benefit from.

I've always thought your better off buying a clean road car and building a race car.

Road cars cost as much to build and they are worth nothing to buy already done.

I wouldn't buy someone else's race car unless I planned to strip it and rebuild it anyways. I see way to much patch up repair work to keep them running during the year.

They are all trashed, it just depends how well its been tarted up as to how good it looks.

I'd have no hesitation to buy that car if I wanted to build a track R33.

It's raw so you know what your starting with as opposed to a tidied up nugget, the engine needs to come out anyways for a sump etc so check it out internally.

80% of the interior is going in the bin.

The other caged 33 that was for sale was a bargain. Few and far between though.

tried that, no dice.

after a think about it i'm thinking i might buy something like a r32 gtst or a silvia and do one or two years worth of track days and learn how to drive and maintain a race car.

while i'm doing that i'll take what i've learnt and build my r32 gtr over time, i think that's the best way to do it (for me anyway).

now to find a r32 gtst that hasn't been tarted up with the help of ebay..

Good move having all the ms builds back in here!

Duncan when you get a moment photos are broken last page of my 32 build, and halfway in to first page of 34 build

    • Yes the gear for the R33/34 is different, it is red and has a different number of teeth. My part didn't come with that gear though, so I don't know how many teeth are on the red one. You'd have to reuse the 260RS/R33 gear, as long as it's not destroyed.   Haha, as unfortunate as that might be it was working fine for about the first 1500km I've had the car for now.
    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
