The fluids will be flowing my friend if this is the case :)

How about you? Your phillip island times are already making the evolution owners quiver :P

Lol no ones quivering unless your from tassie. Our aim is a 1.29-1.31 and not blow anything up. We will be there on wed that week to do some testing as the cars never been on that track and may only achieve 2.00 flat.

Your car is now a monster, 1.35 and under for sure.

Agree.

What was your time at PI? On Semi's?

Your build thread was cool, your car has come a long way.

Thanks mate, Ive been looking at your the last few days and taking a bit of inspiration :) mine is just a (very) budget build though. Its still in the motorsport build forum, i just haven’t done much lately

Agree.

never used semis with the 2.8lt engine, only used slicks. I have spoken to people that have used slicks and advan Ao50's and they say there's nothing in it, one said that the Ao50 was slightly faster but until we try it ourselves i am unsure of this. Was looking forward to seeing your car this year too.

Yeah. Was it a 39 or something on slicks? If so that's damn quick. I was hoping to have a good crack at winton and PI this year on a very limited racing budget. Was aiming for a 29 at Winton and a 41 at PI. Haven't been back to PI since I blew and engine 2 weeks before WTAC 2012. Unfortunately won't be doing much this year now. My mate stacked my car 2 weekends ago at a motorkhana and busted up the front bar and oil cooler and all the front splitter supports were on the bar. Not worth re-doing that setup and I'm using it as an excuse to upgrade the whole new front splitter/diffuser and new front bar which will take a while to develop. Will have to be next year now.

1.36.7 on Pirelli 305 slicks. Not good to hear what your mate did, hopefully he's paying for it. What front bar do you think you will use instead?

1:36.7. That's impressive mate. What sump are you running? I am having oil surge problems in mine now that it has so much lateral grip. I've got a baffled sump but it's still not cutting it. I've only done a 45 or something at PI but that was lifting on the straights due to noise restrictions and I still got booted off after the 1st session. In reality it should have been a 43 or so. Really need to get back there!

Yeah he's a good mate and has worked on my car for years to get me to WTAC etc so he'll be helping me pay for it plus do the work as well. Not a lot of options for decent looking front bars.

This page has a lot of options but not really sold on any of them yet. Pretty hard to beat the look of the stock bar in my opinion.

I see yours is a tommy kiarra? Where did you get that from?

I need a 'swoopy' style bar as the stock bar isn't deep enough to have any room for a diffuser. I want to do a big diffuser if I can. My old one was just flat and is limited to how much down force it can generate.

Had larger pan with baffles and accumulator prior but had oil surge in 2 corners so updating to a dry sump set up that the guys are making up. I believe my bar is a trust copy from carmods Australia, gives good room to put oil coolers behind the bar. some good bars to choose from on your link, I liked em. Send me a pm when your headed back out to the island good to see your car in action.

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
