I would also be down for a set for sure, do speedflow do black fittings, as the blue and red anodized look nice but easy for the cops to pick up on, i would rather keep everything stealth if possible! I checked with Stao and yes the highflows use the same size fittings as the standard turbo so myself and Miguelone would need exactly the same fittings as yourself.

Yes all fittings even the braided lines are available in black, however prices may vary because its a different 'series'.

Also, i should have sprayed my block black while it was out, damn yours looks sexy with those cam covers!

Yeah its quite easy to do whilst the engine is out hey :P

In any case you can still do you cam covers as they are not that much effort to remove when the engine is still on the car

Just an update

Motor was put in last weekend and she's been running since!

Car is currently at the mechanics undergoing a RWC:

Once rego'd will rack on 1,000km's.

Bump it to 23 psi then dyno @ Chequered Tunning!

Didn't get to take that many pics from the install weekend but here is a few:

Getting the gasket on before the manifold goes on. I will say it was a bitch to get some of the nuts on for the manifold

Car been sitting outside so long it has plants growing in it:

Getting the clutch on:

One of the benefits of a rebuild. Getting stickers :/

Initial impressions when driving the car, I was afraid that the clutch would be heavy as fu*rk. But it is surprising light. Even lighter than my old clutch which was an Xtreme organic heavy duty clutch that only handles ~260kws or there abouts. And this handles 380rwkw!

Oh wow! Its all happening!

Can't wait for the dyno results, and being able to thrash her again!

Let me know when it's getting tuned mate, I want to drop down for a look. (and a kebab, that shop next door has great food.) :P

When is Trent back from the US?

I let you know! Stao from Hypergear is also coming down to watch as he is keen to see what the max a ss2 internal gate on 98 will do.

Trent just got back from the US a few days ago. Workshop is back open!

Will also need to pay Scotty Customs a visit after to get a turbo bracket made :P

Thanks.

I saw the shop was open Today as I drove past, have you booked it in yet? Must be quite a line of cars for him to catch up on.

No problem, drop in anytime and explain what you want made. I have some good ideas on it already.

Been following this from the beginning and its a great build.

Also what clutch have you got? Looks similar to the NPC carbotic.

It's an NPC. I've been told its a Heavy Duty cushioned Button one. Also has the billet lightweight flywheel. Drive ability I didnt have any issues with

Thanks.

Not booked in yet. Have a feeling there will be a few things ill need to fix up for the RWC.

But yeah always need to book a week or so in advance with Trent!

So finally the car is back on the road and is registered!

Bit of a delay due to:

Roadworthy:

Getting rims that didnt fit

Getting a stock cat from a Stagea that didn't fit

New radiator blown

Heater core playing up

And then in a dispute with Vicroads on whether I needed a VIV, so ended up looking up the legislation which said I didn't need one

So time to rack up some 1000kms and then a tune with Trent when he gets back from O/S

Then once that is done this project aint over!

Going for wider front + rear guards to fit wider rims and tyres. So watch this space :D

    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
    • Hey all. I’m looking on replacing my speed sensor on my R33 GTR. Will the center differential need to be drained, and if so, the center diff uses ATF fluid D? I found information on the transmission, front diff and rear diff. Can’t find a for sure answer for the center diff. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
