niZmO_Man
Sounds like you haven't done a full service on it. Replace the fuel filter as well if it hasn't been replaced in the past year. Make sure you get BCPR6ES-8, if the store can't get -8, go elsewhere. Either that or you'll have to gap the 1.1mm plugs down to 0.8mm. hop1308
yeah funnily enough i just made another thread on general maintenance because my car doesn't start at all now. pretty sure it's fuel pump related. hoping to sort that out now by putting a new fuel pump and then continuing with the rest of the service. if anyone has any other suggestions on why my car might not be starting, the threads herehttp://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/425667-urgent-car-not-starting-possible-fuel-pump/ Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/425336-possible-rr-only-10psi-happens-randomly/page/3/#findComment-6861312 Share on other sites

I've never seen any with -8 on the end. paulr33
try unplugging the boost sensor and blocking the vac line to it that will alleviate the stock ecu doing its boost protection Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/425336-possible-rr-only-10psi-happens-randomly/page/3/#findComment-6861518 Share on other sites

I've seen the -11 which are the 1.1mm version I've bought BCPR6ES and they were 1.1mm. I also bought -8 ones (but can't remember what they said on the plug). Unless I got ones that were boxed incorrectly or something. hop1308
well i replaced my fuel pump and fuel filter, car's running again. but that weird missfire or popping sound problem is still there. going to replace sparks next week, hopefully that'll solve it. GTSBoy
try unplugging the boost sensor and blocking the vac line to it that will alleviate the stock ecu doing its boost protection Just FYI. I just re-installed my boost controller and wound the boost up (actually, it isn't controlling properly, so the boost wasn't actually under control). Anyway - car boosted to >1 bar a few times and the ECU did not shut it down. This is R34 GTT ECU with Nistune but running standard GTT manual bin file. Boost sensor is all connected. The only time the car chopped out was when boosting above about 10 psi in 4th gear. That would be TP cut I'm guessing. In 2nd gear it was happy to boost to 1.2 bar before I lifted back off without any sign the ECU was upset. On that basis, I maintain and reinforce my position that the factory boost sensor will not cause trouble in the 10-12 psi region that the OP is having trouble in. Cowboy1600
Its not hard to replace spark plus...Replace them with .8 gap and see what happens... If that doesnt fix it, its the coilpacks +1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/425336-possible-rr-only-10psi-happens-randomly/page/3/#findComment-6865396 Share on other sites
hop1308
so i replaced the spark plugs with 0.8mm gapped copper ngk ones. and now the car sounds like a wrx, its slow and its missing so much. searched about it heaps, but still unsure what it could be =\ Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/425336-possible-rr-only-10psi-happens-randomly/page/3/#findComment-6870867 Share on other sites

jjman
be really gentle with the coilpack wiring 'harness' and ignitor pack (if ur S1). Those wires are old and have been subject to a lot of heat so crispy n easy to get damaged... hop1308
well thanks for allll the help guys, it was really heplful and wouldn't have gotten it done otherwise. pretty much re did it all, except this time i put in bosch iridium 1.1mm gap plugs, cleaned out the area very nicely and yeah. luckily this solved the miss fire problem, and even more so, the missfire under boost problem, i tried putting my foot down at high speeds and low speeds, where before there would be pops now there was no sound like that. so everythings working fine thanks again everyone Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/425336-possible-rr-only-10psi-happens-randomly/page/3/#findComment-6871685 Share on other sites
