Hey Guys, I wouldnt normally post this, and If the mods dont like it they can delete it, but

Driving home from Eastern Creek yesterday, a Maroon R33 GTR with the plates JET 26L was cutting in and out of traffic, driving like an absolute Dickhead, obviously speeding.

Narrowly missed me as he cut me off, as well as many other cars. All while cracking (external) gate.

Now time and a place for everything. This was 6pm along a busy Cowpasture road.

My only hope is that someone that knows the owner, will read this and tell them to pull there head in.

Its no wonder imports are targeted. FFS.

Tell me about it... Driving to Brisbane Sunday morning from the goldcoast I was sitting behind a nice looking black NA R34.. All of a sudden a 33 flys past doing well over 150ks.. Then the 34 infront of me decides to put the foot down and follow him weaving through traffic....

My skyline isn't on the road yet.. And this pisses me off so much.

Ruining for all car enthusiasts..

Why would you post this?

There are a lot more drivers who actually don't own imports and act like dicks on public roads, yet do you single them out everytime you see them do something wrong? No.

Is it because they don't own a Skyline and this somehow makes it less of an issue?

It's pointed out because people like this on the road is what gives the enthusiast community a bad name, and hopefully with a bit of name-and-shame, these people will pull their heads in.

Sure, there's other bad drivers out there, but when we're trying to change the public's opinion of us, having people driving like this just isn't helping.

I disagree Owen.

The driver isn't suddenly going to change their attitude even if by the small-chance they stumble upon this thread.

By always bringing attention to when someone does something wrong, it simply makes things worse.

You don't see ACA running stories of car enthusiasts on good behaviour during a cruise, you only see them run hooning stories and so on, which distorts how people generalise about people who own imports.

This isn't a helpful thread. I drive past more wankers in non sports cars than sports cars. Should I name and shame every single car which hoons?

I'm pretty sure every sports car owner has had a spirited run on the road at once point in their life. Hell even police have admitted to this in their "younger days".

Granted i have at a younger age pushed the pedal a little more than needed at the lights or left it creep up a couple of km over but there is a difference in being cheeky once in a while and doing absolutely idiotic things on the road. i agree name and shame. if they just left the lights and revved the engine a bit then hey they acting like a kid but if they endanger others and make a bad name for us as well as increase the insurance costs following accidents due to they're stupidity then by all means give them a kick up the proverbial a$$

"Code of Conduct" on the Membership Application indicates how we as Members are to behave.
CEF33Y & cpd are correct in trying to teach the Skyline speedster a 'lesson' before either a) the cops do, or b) a tragedy occurs

Not only that, if ACA/TT were to sensationalise a hoon story, we at least as a club can demonstrate how responsible our attitude really is!

Agree. If somehow we can deter this behaviour from occurring then it will be better for us.

Also agree though you do see many other people in "non" sports cars showing the same behaviour.

Terry, a lot of those who own an import do the right thing and act sensibly on the roads. I am just not sure publicly shaming that R33 driver is the best approach, as I highly doubt the owner of the vehicle will even come across this thread.

I do think the original post should have been worded a lot more carefully.....as media have a very good way of twisting things to suit...and I am not sure the club would have a chance to show we are sensible enthusiasts if they were to sensationalise a story.

For example, the following situation could arise...

Scenario

A concerned internet user documented his concerns on an online forum after an encounter with a souped up Nissan Skyline, fearing for not only his own safety, but the safety of other road users....

Then a snippet of the post is shown...

^ Something such as the above scenario is my concern.

why act all rightous??? i drive like a normal road user 99% of the time but from time to time i do give it a little bit with in reason and not normally on a busy road!

if you can say you drive at the limit and acelate like a prirus driver everwhere you go maybe you should'nt own a performace car!!!

naming and shaming will only start fights!

Asses the situation

- road conditions, number and distance of other vehicles, time of day, public opinion, potential police presence, your vehicle's and own capability, your speed and braking distances, state of mind (attitude), occupants of the vehicle, no drugs/alcohol, other drivers and your own maturity. If you have another person in your car then don't even ......

The track is for racing not public roads.

- I have no issue with solo spirited driving within reason on public roads (highways, freeways, winding roads outside city limits, NOT in built up areas - country). 110-140kmph fluctuating.

I get pleasure from driving my Skyline. If I drove it pedestrian 100% of the time I'd sell them and get a prius.

Consider what you will say to the Police, Magistrate, Mates mum or the parents/children when your involved in an accident. You yourself is inconsequential - except to your Family.

Just my immediate thoughts

there will always be tossers on the road unfortunately

I have 2 cars for this reason cause most if the time I drive my quiet smooth car that does everything I want it to. If I want to thrash the Gtr I go to a texi or hill climb.

And I'm sick of being called a hoon because I own a car similar to one that hit a tree doing 140km/h in a 60 zone

Correct Brett.

CAMs wanted in 2010 for all Car Clubs to have a Code of Conduct.

SAU.NSW had our Code 6 months before their instruction to.

What on earth would you write up that's different from our own?

And whilst we have a good Code of Ethics, do you think we should abide by it; or just pretend that we do?

I just have to add this as this happened last night driving home from work ...

A Rav4 overtook me while driving down a road:

1. On a single lane road

2. Crossing double lines

3. Speeding

4. No indicator used

5. With oncoming traffic (a TRUCK!) coming the other way

Now I was not driving my "sports" car (Skyline) yesterday. Nor was I doing anything other than driving normally from a long day at work. But I saw this car speeding up in my rear view mirror and I honestly didn't expect to see what happened afterwards. This was more than just illegal, it was dangerous in the circumstances.

Just felt like adding this after reading this thread.

      Did you panel beat the dents or have you tried to repair this only using filler?  Is your sanding block soft/flexible and is following the shape of the panel rather then just knocking down the high points?

      I haven't knocked them down yet. I think I made the repair more complex than it should have been. I had rock chips combined with waviness and dents and I tackled it all in one because it was near each other and just end up wasting a bunch of bog lol. I'll knock down those areas and see how I go. And yep what you are saying at the end is correct. I think I might be sanding the top of a steep hill then my sanding block falls into the dent and gets rid of the guidecoat if that makes sense. Though shouldnt unless I'm covering too big of an area with not a long enough block. I'll try something new and provide some updates. Getting there though! Thanks as always.

      Yeah makes sense, hard to comment on your situation without seeing what your doing. I was talking generally before, I would not be looking to randomly create low spots with a hammer to then have to fill them.  It's hard without seeing what your doing, it sounds like you are using the guide coat to identify low spots, as you're saying the panel is still wavy. I don't see how you're not ending up with patches of guide coat remaining in a wavy panel? Once the high spots are knocked down to the correct level, surely to have a wavy panel you need low spots. And those low spots would have guide coat still in them?

      So I'll put filler past the repair area a bit to make sure I don't miss anything. Then I'll block it until it's almost level, put the guidecoat, then keep blocking until it's gone. Then it's still wavy.  In regards to hitting the panel, I saw this video might give more context - Skip to 0:47 he knocks it down. But yeah I'm sanding until the guidecoat is gone then checking because otherwise my filler is still well above the bodyline. Unless what you're saying is I should put guidecoat around it early, surrounding the filler then stip once it's gone?

      I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
