I Wonder How Hard The Police Push These New Laws ?

Recommended Posts

by this u mean not adjusting them anymore ?:D

or u have to weld them down? :(

then again... how often do people adjust the height of their coilovers? I know I only set mine once or twice in 3 years :P Would nismo ones sound more "legal" ?;)

I mean having them welded into position.

  • 2 weeks later...

between the new bikie laws and this hoon crap, QLD is turning into a bit of a hole of a place to live in

There is also proposed changes for noise complaints to combat out of control "social media/facebook" parties.

Basically gives the police far easier access to come onto and search your property

Almost tempted to ship my car to my brothers place down Melbourne and just fly down there for events

Shouldn't have too. It's like the whole cops can strip search on the side of the road to confirm you don't belong "outlaw" motorcylce gang. They'll have to arrest me before I strip down to prove my innocence.

that's funny, i usually have the police telling me to put my clothes back on :P

wonder what happens with the forms received though, so one person fills out a form saying you're hooning, and then what, you're charged? or flagged on the system, etc?

I don't "hoon" but do drive a car with a louder than stock exhaust and nice rims, the way some people look at the car even just driving along normally it's like i've got my foot to the floor producing 40 metres of smoke. Driving at 10k ph through a wide open carpark and some guy goes 'slow down dickhead' wtf, I don' think it will go any slower without being parked mate. And that's my concern with this, that some people's ill-informed perceptions will result in people being penalised or at very least have un-needed trouble created for them.

Correctamondo. It's a perception thing different people see it differently. My coworker had same issue on the weekend up nebo was doing 60 in the 80 zone and some old biatch was walkung her dog in the road and yelled at him as he passed saying slow down blah blah blah

I do not approve....

you could have alot of fun filling out the forms though...

I may go hunting for commodores with offset pink rims just to get them off the road. Chermy is close enough to nudgee i guess

Yah I really like it when I ride a lower gear to hear my exhaust through some road works

and the "stop go" guy starts waving at me to slow down

when I am already 5km/hr under their already ridiculously low speed limit.

Yet the truck flying by at 20 over is fine.

i consider the loud exhaust a road-safety measure, kind of like an early warning system. Car coming, get the hell out the way. Being in a car when I can't even hear if it's idling/on makes me physically nauseous.

It took a lot of getting used to with the Maxima. Felt really weird at first.

    • Put a clamp on your return line. I have a feeling it's sucking air, and introducing bubbles to your fuel. With a lot of fuel, less problematic. I'd honestly be redoing all the lines in the tank and clamps on everything.   Also, you've given two different answers to the same question: Asked if being followed by the police you could get down to use the whole tank, you said yes you could, so long as you keep off boost. However, you then followed this up that free revving, it would also cause the issues. I'm doubting free revving is enough to make any noticeable boost on what is likely a decent sized turbo.   So now I have to ask, can you actually drive it lightly and use all the fuel, or does it break up even free revving? Also, have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it? Can you hear the pump change noise at all when you're having this issue?
    • Thanks guys - I have been overseas for a hectic many weeks , so haven't had time to chase any of these up.  Some of the suggestions are for 4.1 ratio, which I already have, and a 3.5 at Lonsdale, which is also too tall.  Really looking for 3.9 or even a 3.7 LSD, either with M12 bolts. Will look some more.
    • Yeah sounds like the swirl pot isn't being fed from the return line, would be made even worse by the high flow pump.
    • This is the R32 one and the inside of the tank should look like this. which has an internal swirl pot, that the return line must empty into. (Interestingly, because the GTR tank is plastic it misses out on the swirl pot.) That is a potential cause for an aftermarket pump hanger to mess things up. Maybe the return is cut short and squirting over the side.
