Yeah, that was some bullshit. Ferrari International Assistance program was in full effect that day.

deadset! he totally deserved that penalty for cutting the chicane and getting a run on Kimi to pass him half way along the short Start Finish straight! Only passed him because he cut the corner.

what a cock saying he really won that race coz he didn't deserve a penalty! The good thing is, if he's still hung up on that from 6yrs ago, he's never going to get over losing this WDC! lol

I am guessing that means no race bonus or 500k every time you are a naughty boy. Post that we will put Sam Bird in your car for Friday practice and we will see how quick you are in the race after a test driver has crashed your car on Friday and you only get 15 laps on Sat morning pre - quali

Have to be an eye watering amount of coin to have any influence. A world championship would be worth how many millions over the course of his retirement?

I dare say if you are that big a cock that copping internal fines from management etc etc will soon get the mechanics and crew offside and ...well I have always wondered how much car reliability comes down to mechanics who will give their life-time for you and their side of the garage. I mean Webber no doubt upset the harmony at times and dont doubt that the best mechanics, engioneers gravitated towards Vettels side of the garage. (or in part his cars success was tribute to those working on his side of the garage)

Looking at Mercedes its a guess but I wonder if Hamiltion largely uses Schueys old mechanics etc and Rosberg retains his guys as some of the nonsense that went on with Schueys car seems to plague LW at the moment.

Nothing intentional or sinister....but a mates school friend is/was a McLaren mechanic and he told me in 2008 that the stories about Alonso at McLaren in 2007 were largely BS. Mechanics and the team loved him. He shared his race bonuses with his mechanics etc Though the UK press beat that story up to be something silly like Alonsoi is trying to pay off McLaren mechanics to make sur ehe beats Lewis etc etc.

But I do look at Alonso's amazing reliability and do wonder if it comes down to he engages his guys more than other drives and his side of the garage enjoy the spoils with them. Not to say they dont do their best anyway....but your best is sometimes better when you are gettign a cut of the guys race bonuses vs Hamilton running off back to US-Monaco and his rapper friends and popstar girlfriend. I wonder if human nature is simply that...and a very easy thing that could throw a more regular spanner in the works.

Rumour mill has ground away on Tool to McLaren.

On the assumption that McClaren want someone who of the top line drivers would be unhappy enough with their current circumstance/ballsy/desperate enough to take the gamble.

Alonso. You'd think no way although the current Ferrari is still rubbish.

Homo. If he gets sick of his current team.

Vettel. Sick of being hosed by his team mate yet?

Bottas: Too inexperienced still?

And not in the top line category:

Grosjean: Maybe sick of the DNF's at Lotus.

Hulk. If he's not too big.

Button. More of the same?

Ok...my take...since nobody asked :)

I suspect Alonso will see McLaren as about as good a bet as Ferrari. Why move to a team further down the grid, with probably a worse campaign ahead of them in their first year with the new Honda engine and headless McLaren? Vs Ferrari, the team he knows. Is comfortable with and the car isnt too bad. Engine not too bad. It wasnt James Allisons car and after a 1.5 seasons Allison doing his thing I am tipping Ferrari with an engine catch up will be in the hunt next year.

So for me. Alonso is no chance of going to McLaren next year. He may, but I still doubt it sign an agreement with them that McLaren have first option on him for 2016 if they place top 3 in the 2015 WCC. But I dont see him going to McLaren...but his thrist for a 3rd WCC means it would be smart (and he is that) to sign a LOI with performance clauses. I put it at 10% chance :)

Now Vettel, makes more sense. I question whether part of his perforamance this year is him falling off the ball. Been with the same team now since 2009 and the RB folk for even longer and along with the family it could just be getting a little stale. So I can see him needing a new challenge to motivate himself and I can see RBR saying Dan is doing a good enoguh job to cover the whole (if any) that he may leave and their Jr program wont struggle to promote an STR pilot alongside Dan. So wont try to meet his cash demands etc.

So I can see Vettel walking , RBR is his home...but Newey is going....he was there during their peak....move on and catch the next team on the up and McLaren is a fair bet.

So , I thiink with Vettel under contract. He will sign for uber Honda-McLaren bank but will be for 2016 and will see out his 2015 contract.

IMO that will give McLaren a good option to pick and choose for 2015. With Honda they could still be very strong but nothing like race miles and competition despite dyno and factory work Mercedes will continue to be strong next year with little change in rules. RBR will eb stronger with improved Renault engines and ditto Ferrari. Honda-McLaren will just be giving too much away starting with a poor car from 2014 and a new engine.

LOL, now this means with Vettel locked in for 2016, they can experiment next year. If Button (and he will) continues to be outqualified and raced by a rookie then he will get the hatchet. Magnussen is doing an impressive job as a rookie considering the car he has. So (it always coems back to this) Romain will be called in on a 1 year contract with performance clauses to get extensions.

Romain wll go head to head with Magnussen in 2015. He will smash Magnussen and McLaren will start the 2016 season with Vettel and Romain.

You read it here first!

Looked like a bit of swerving/blocking down the straight from Hamilton there too, definitely more than 1 move...

I recall in that race when hamilton cut the chicane he got off the gas and let Kimi pass. When Kimi went past he had a higher km/hr than hamilton was doing. Ham then got back on the gas and put the shake and bake on Kimi into the next corner.

After the race they changed the rules so you can no longer make a pass on the following corner after coming off the track.

Maybe ham should have just held his line and pulled a rosberg and given Kimi a puncture

I get the impression he was on Skysports weekly F1 show...

Monza - Williams, this is your chance! You know, for a win, not a "good points haul" in 3rd place like Spielberg. Time to step up and stop acting like a midfield team with your pit calls.

"Toto Wolff, Paddy Lowe, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton met today in the boardroom of Mercedes Amg Petronas headquarters in Brackley to discuss the events of the Belgian Grand Prix," the team said in a statement.

"During this meeting, Nico acknowledged his responsibility for the contact that occurred on lap two of the Belgian Grand Prix and apologised for this error of judgment.

"Suitable disciplinary measures have been taken for the incident.

"Mercedes-Benz remains committed to hard, fair racing because this is the right way to win world championships. It is good for the team, for the fans and for Formula One.

"Lewis and Nico understand and accept the team's number one rule: there must be no contact between the team's cars on track."

Rosberg was blamed by the team following the race for causing what was an avoidable collision.

No pressure then. They have one remaining chance of winning a race this year and a whole pile of credibility resting on the outcome. Good luck fellas.

    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
