Rolls
Are these replaceable if so who sells them, I've read a few things that say they are permanently crimped in and not replaceable and recommended a one piece tailshaft, this doesn't seem right? I thought the entire uni was detachable from the tail shaft? GTSBoy
A 1 piece tailshaft is NEVER the solution. Regardless of whether the centre bearing is crimped/welded in or whatever, they would still be replaceable. It just might mean a trip to Spicers and more $$ than you'd like to spend on it. scotty nm35
I recently replaced the centre bearing on my mates XR6t, the centre uni needed replacement as you need to remove it to fit the bearing. Rolls
Yeah I assumed I would need to replace the entire uni joint, where can I buy one other than nissan? scotty nm35
Obviously the Ford one can be obtained at any 7/11 store, Nissan would be your best bet, but not sure if they are replaceable with circlips. You may need to take it to a driveshaft specialist to be machined. Can you get a pic of the uni? Rolls
Surely I'm not the first person with a clunking tailshaft? I'll find out from them what they are worth.
