What dealer had told me:

2001, 51,000 kmsBayside blueWater pump changedNISMO gauges installed since new 300km/h speedoBlitz Pod FiltersNE1 NISMO ExhaustTE37 Volk Racing Rims 18 inch small gutter rash easy to fixPotenza RE11A tyres - good conditionCalsonic High Flow Alloy RadiatorBlitz SBCAdjustable coil-overs

And the car is from Edward Lee's, I know they don't have such a good reputation around but I think it's more about the car not the dealer right?

The thing that I'm concerned about it the ODO, the dealer said the nismo gauges was installed since new but there is no prove of it, is there anyway I can check if the odo is genuine or not?

Many thanks!

I would wonder why the water pump was changed, seeing as that is something that is done at the 100,000k service.

That along with the nismo gauges is a sign that the k's aren't genuine.

But if it all seems good and the price is right all the best.

Have you bought it? If yes why are you asking now?

I very much doubt it.

It'll be interesting to see if a lot of EL cars all start coming with aftermarket speedos.

That being said, the auction sheet is not of the importers doing, as far as I am aware, so is accurate I suppose. Of course him telling you the Nismo guages have been there since new is him either making shit up or just passing on what he's been told. There's no way he could ever know unless he's known the car since it was knew, so that's a piece of bullshit right there.

The car looks absolutely mint so I reckon you may have hit a good one. The paint looks perfect, underbonnet is bloody clean and the steering wheel and gear knob look good.

EDIT: I missed the water pump change. That rings a massive WTF bell right there. 51,000ks and needed a new water pump? That's nonsensical.

The car is still doing some detailing and paint repair for the front lip and I have only paid deposit on it, I will pick the car sometime next week.

The car looks so mint (while it was still in Japan so no detailling was done yet) that's why I paid deposit on it.

The steering wheel is new as the owner in japan use a racing steering wheel since new and the GTR steering wheel was kept in a box.

the only thing I'm not happy is the odo. That's why I'm asking if there is anyway i can know if it's genuine?

The car was not in the EL's car yard, I asked them to directly improt one for me.

Some of the pictures I took was right after it arrived in Australia so nothing has been done to it by EL.

So now the main thing is the water pump?

TBH I never thought the water pump change is such a big deal,

If they want to trick me why they tell me the water pump has been changed?

I know EL is always BS around but pls as I said focus on the car not the dealer.

I'm asking the dealer to provide me the information on why and when was the water pump changed, the dealer seems to be has no idea why it was changed and say will provide me with these information ASAP. Hope it was an upgrad with the radiator.

FYI -

Steering wheels is changed - so can not pick condition from it.

Gearbox knob does seem to have a lot of wear.

the pedals have being changed to the V-Spec2 type - standard are rubber ones - so can not gauge condition from it either.

No photos show seat belt or seat bolsters for wear.

Car seem to have Nismo MDF lap timer switch.. which is nice.

I would suggest that the car has done more than 51000km. The foam side on drivers seat is starting to break down from getting in and out. you can see the seat covering not stretched out like it should be. MFD screen looks like its had plenty of sun as well. Take it to a mechanic get its compression checked, then on a dyno to see if its a ticking time bomb. At the end of the day a good mechanic and a good tuner will tell you if its been reamed with a cactus. More than likely it will be fine, you've bought it now so no use freaking out until you got facts. Why does one pic show the oem steering wheel and the other some aftermarket setup?

the pictures with oem steering wheel are all took by myself in Australia, all the pictures with the aftermarket steering wheel are all took in Japan. I only put down deposit, I haven't bought the car yet.

Of course it got the speedo when it was new!

What else would they say?

Nah man, the guy put the speedo in at 120000 when he replaced the leaky water pump and then bought a new wheel to hide how worn the original one was......

Use my link, cost $60? (someone correct me) will tell you true KMs.

If its here, just get a shop to do a compression and leak down test... Get it on a hoist too.
