Hi All,

Can someone please help me understand the difference between the following two items?

Blitz Intercooler SE Kit - Nissan Skyline ECR33/ER34 - Part No: 23100

Blitz Intercooler SE Kit - Nissan Skyline HCR32 - Part No: 23106

Core sizes are identical, is it the piping diameters?

What should they be for an R33?

Thanks!

I'd say the diameters are the same as well.

These kits are designed to line up to the stock piping in the engine bay, so I would guess the bends in the pipes are different.

I have one in my r33. I've never seen the intake piping in a 32 so can't tell you what the exact differences are.

my guess, and it is just a guess, is see how it is described as a "kit"? The core would be the same but the piping of this alleged "kit" would be a different pathway, although the piping diameter could, or may not be, or may be similar to, the same size. Possibly 64mm.

Re "What should they be for an R33?" , I would estimate, with no legal claim of specific knowledge to, or of prior events pertaining to, the piping contained in "Blitz Intercooler SE Kit - Nissan Skyline ECR33/ER34 - Part No: 23100", being as suitable for application to an R33. Or more specifically, an ECR33.

Hope that clarifies everything you needed to know, without searching the forums for the answer.

Just to clarify as this is an obviously confusing issue. One is a kit to fit your car, the other is a kit that won't fit your car.

Different part numbers imply that they are actually different kits and the seller isn't just trying to look like they have heaps of different options to choose from. They do actually have different options to choose from.

However choosing the kit that won't fit your car would be a silly. But you have that option should you choose to take it.

As for the actual differences. If the core is the same then that would have to mean that the pipework is different.

Thanks everyone,

Yeah I'm buying a second hand unit with piping.

My car is an r33. The bloke in buying it from has an Rb25 installed in his r32, and he had this return flow installed.

Naturally I don't want the hassles piping not fitting etc hence the reason for my query.

It is far more likely to be the R32 one in an R32 than the R33 one in an R32. Now here's the rub. If it is the R33 kit in an R32, then it probably had to be modified to fit. In that case, and especially seeing as it IS in an R32, then you should buy an R32 to put the kit into, then you know it will fit.

The differences will be in the detail of where the holes are in the inner guard in front of the airbox. All the pipework will look the same between the two kits, it's just that there will be slight differences in length or bend locations that mean one won't fit in the other. You'll never work it out just by looking at photos of the one kit.

I concur with my learned colleagues above; regardless of an rb20 or rb25 being fitted to the R32, it would be more certain an R32 kit has been utilized in this instance. And not worth your buying.

However, one guy I may or may not have heard of, or even exist, once met another guy whose "R32 Skyline" turned out to be a VP Commo with a Mercury outboard engine fitted underneath the bonnet, so, buyer beware, that's all I'll say.

Unless you like projects, my advice to you my friend is avoid the pain, get the justjap cooling-pro intercooler kit, mine is still going choice bruzz for years now.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
