R33's have a double latched setup from factory... you could pull the bonnet release cable at 200kph and it wouldn't fly open...
Of course you're more than welcome to make your own additional restraint with a carrabeana and a loop of wire to secure it further.

Edit: I would be running the additional if I had an aftermarket bonnet, carbon fibre, bracing removed, or something like that which could allow the bonnet to flex more than normal

Well bugger me... I come back after a day and have to cater for a few more!

Hi guys, I have been reading the supp regs and the cams manual and just want some help with one thing.

Do I need to run an extra bonnet restraint cable or is the factory latch ok??

Cheers

Luke

You should be ok, a long as it has the two methods of fastening.

They can be a bit picky on after market bonnets though.

Not required. Just eat and be merry.

Squires Loft Nunawading is supplying the food at cost and cooking/extras for free. In return SAU-Vic picks up the raw food bill on members behalf as it's a Members Only BBQ - one of the many member perks!

Great too see so many faces around.

Yes I did try and remove the speed limiter from the Evo. Only to have the battery go flat...

The speed limiter is gone now and car working fine. (Frkn Evo's)

Thanks too Squires for the food, amazing as always.

Not sure what others thoughts were, but this day ran better than previous days of late.

Bearing in mind a wrx dumped oil and some chev driver painted the armco.

There is a discussion in the champ thread about the 30th of August at Winton. Get in there and have ur say.

Obviously gutted for members with day ending issues

But yeah, excellent day, started to run so quickly at the end that my car couldn't take it anymore and I believe quite a few were setting PBs etc, big crowd, excellent food - missus complaining I'm getting fed to well, what diet :-)

Was a much better day, even if i didn't make full use of it. Some minor attention this week and I'll be sorted. :)

100 cars, awesome. 120+ cars, shithouse.

Day was run perfectly compared to the other 4 rounds so far this year, which the oversubscribed side was pretty much the cause.

Let's hope it continues!

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
