Hey guys,

future planning here (moving to Vic end of the year), was reading through the regulations and would like to confirm a few things with the guys that actually participate.

Would an R32 with RB25 fall into class G as the RB25 is 2498CC?

Is a stripped interior, however retaining hood lining and front door trims (not the little trims behind the door on a two door) ok as it only mentions removal of rear seat.

It also says that roll cages are encouraged however is that another CAMS schedule that the cars need to comply with.

For reference my 32 is not registered, RB25DET, no interior, suspension and brake mods (i did notice those are open)

Cheers, hope the final rounds are fantastic for all involved

The type of motorsport days most of us attend are multi-club sprints run by various CAMS-affiliated clubs (e.g. WRX Club, Alfa Romeo Owners Club, PIARC, etc), and whilst the events are CAMS governed, we don't use the CAMS racing categories (i.e. we don't have a class 'G'). SAU Vic club championship runs under it's own class system which you can read in the motorsport thread. As for other CAMS requirements, everything you need to know is in the motorsport championship thread.

http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/437292-2014-sau-vic-motorsport-championship/

If your intention is to enter actual CAMS organised series such as the Victorian Supersprint Championship or Improved Production, then CAMS categories will apply - you're best to ring them and ask your questions to get official answers rather than forums.

In that case, keep an eye in this forum for the SAU VIC 2015 Motorsport Championship and we'll be listing the events we'll be running as rounds of our championship :)

I've entered.

The CAMS entry looks like being useful, no more writing down details every time.

Certainly a step up from scanning PDFs then emailing or worse, posting them.

Yes, looks nice and streamlined.... only about 10 years too late

Did you guys use the online form or just look at it? Reminds me I gotta enter still, will sort that out tomorrow.

Guessing if Ash mentions he's taking care of sustenance by way of steak sanga's and skewers again there will be a rush of entries ;)

Used it, first time is only a little bit more of effort than a normal event entry but you reuse for next event. if you can be bothered, there are long winded instructional videos.

First glance the driver/car setup seemed like effort but you're right, was straight forward except for the car class. Will work out nicely for future PIARC entries at least.

$205 with dorian for early bird (until thursday) isn't too bad at all for PI. Looking forward to it, haven't had a decent run at PI since Feb I think.

Car Class, good point. I know we run under our SAU classification specified in the 2014 championship thread but to assist in people populating CAMS entry car details.

We run under the sprint days, so you'll find the PI supp regs classes within the "Group 5 Sprint Class"

Woot, after swinging spanners for the past 3 nights my baby is back together, now with new big brakes and chunky rear toe arms. Getting an alignment as we speak and it'll be good to go after a quick oil and plug change :D

Have to pull out of this one as I don't think I'll have my car back by then. Sandown brought to light some high RPM issues which are still being sorted.

It's fine... racetracks love high rpm :P Good luck exorcising the demons :)

Got an email last night from a piarc guy saying that he's received our entries and its not an oversubscribed day so to invite some friends down to bump up the numbers.

Here's hoping for some good track time :)

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
