Yes, that is my plan as well.

The stock motor will be slower then the one I had. That was a 236kw/350nm NA engine.

Do the fit and tune at 15psi with exhaust and cam gears and the stock 26 should make about 250rwkw and 500+nm which will easy shit on what ever NA you pulled out

Sweet.

Can someone school me on the Kinugawa turbos? They have three kits on Ebay that I fancy.

Tanked to local turbo man, he claimed 500+ from stock turbos with steel turbine.

your local turbo man is full o shit

and yea a tunes stock motor will wipe the floor with a na

He also questioned why I bothered putting the old worn out and unreliable RB engine in a BMW instead of a M3 og M5 engine. He had used insane amount on his engine and it was never any good.

My plan is to make it reliable. A rebuild now, proper oil system, poper oil ventilation, good turbos and there will be some years before she needs to be taken care of again I hope. Not going to run insane hp anyway.

Go iD/ BOSCH 725 or 1000's. Much Nicer than those old wreck sard 600's

By elbows I'm assuming you mean dumps? A set of R34 GTR dumps will do.

A bit overkill with so big injectors or? Better safe than sorry though.

Cheers

Did get the engine yesterday, so I have been wrenching a bit today. Tested in the car and removed the oilpan to get the diffhousing cut off.

If the result is that I just can't get room for the twins, what will be the most responsive single turbo option?

Ditch the n1 oil pump no matter what gears are in it.

Go Tomei/HKS/Jun every time - in that order.

Get a trust sump extension - they wing the sump so its out to the left/right.

-5's will be fine with a good set of CAMs/Gears.

I had this with standard internals - 345KW at all 4's no issues until i dropped a big end bearing due to oil pump failure.

ah you steering wheel is on the wrong side

in that case you will get 500hp out of a stock motor

American hp is different to Australian hp

our horses are 20% smaller

Nope, you are talking Norwegian Viking horses

Tomei is best and JUN is not that good? Have a JUN pump on hand now.

Tomie pump is externally pressure adjustable, this is the reason i only like to run them, they are only a little bit more in price to the other brand name full pumps.

There is a plug on one side, on the outside that can be removed and you can adjust the oil pressure as needed.

Other pumps have it hanging on the inside of the sump, if you want to play with it you need to get the sump off which in most cases is a engine out job.

I did my oil returns to 10.5mm in the block and head, i also added breathers to my sump and used a gated baffel 9lt sump extension and built my own tomie style windage tray to direct returning oil to the pickup area.

    • Theyre probably just -7 or N1 turbos
    • The previous owner told me that he had a shop replace the old turbos with these. https://www.enjukuracing.com/products/garrett-rb26dett-gruppe-n-turbo-upgrade.html Anyone know anything about them?  Looks like they are just GT2860R's? Not sure why they are renamed Grup-N...  Does the compressor wheel look like they are in okay condition?
    • Just wanted to update everyone. I finally got around to working on the car this year and I did a boost leak test. It seems like i was hooking up the 3 port mac-valve correctly, but there is a massive leak on the rear turbo's wastegate actuator. Where the seam comes together.
    • Just checking; you are buying an aftermarket headlight for your V35, and the new headlight comes with a daylight running light that you want to wire in? You have the option of just not wiring the DRL in, and the new headlight will work like the old. If you want the DRL to work you will have to wire it in on the car as it wasn't delivered with one. Best way is to add a Normally Closed or Changeover relay in the car, and wire: 87a to both DRL power wires 30 to a fused ignition power source 86 to earth 85 tap into the power wire that goes to the low beam headlight Note, you cannot use the much more common Normally Open relay for this, you need the DRL to turn off when the headlight is on and vice versa.
