Ferrari would still be nowhere if nando was still there.

The guy is a cancer srsly.

Im sure he would be doing better then racing Manor's though lol

HAAS is an interesting one. They are predicting they arent going to start out crap because of Ferrari engine, gearbox etc (and chassis too i think) but im still not 100% sold that they will get the aero spot on first go. Will it be Ferrari's 2015 engine anyway?

Funny...Fezz were nowhere with Kimi and Massa any Alonso challenged how many WDCs , won how many GPs and placed in the WDC vs team mates etc?

McLaren have been rooted for years now

Meanwhile, going to tough following Romain. Hope its a genius move and Fezz poach him on the departure of Kimi

I don't fully understand what you are trying to get accross here

I'd hardly say Ferrari were nowhere with Kimi and Massa though, 1 WDC and nearly a second one with Massa the year after

Looking at Mclaren last year, and there troubled pre-season, I always thought they were going to have a tough year. But I think everyone is a bit suprised with how far behind they are. Considering they had quite a while to prep. I'm not really sure what rules and regs apply when you are developing a new engine. I assume it just has to stay within the rules though, which means it had potential to be as good as the Mercedes (although that's quite a high expectation)

I dunno, I'm not claiming to be an expert. But I just cant believe Honda, with the time they had, couldnt develop a better package. Assuming that they are right in saying that the Mclaren Chassis and Aero is decent

2016 engines to have screamer pipes by the sound of this:

http://planetf1.com/news/fia-confirms-tweaks-to-make-cars-noisier/

I wonder if it will actually make them sound any good, I still think they need to up the fuel flow limits and let them actually rev higher to ~15,000rpm during races and that will make them sound right

I am rather vanilla on Bottas...so didnt mind Kimi making a lunge. Allisons comments anout the pit wall bein in his ear to have a go was god for the sport. The move showed a bit of hackness in that Bottas didnt realise a dive bomb was coming. Hasd it been better telegraphed and squeezed to the Apex...could shoulda stuff but good on him for the red hot poke!

Romain hack result....Dan hack result and Rosberg another crap result....Lewis is getting the run of the green these days

I can imagine what would have been said if it was Maldonardo instead of Kimi... Hack move is a hack move. And that was really shit. Especially from a former champion. He was pretty dodgy with his teammate earlier too. If you're 100pts behind your teammate this late in the season, and he's fighting for 2nd in the WDC to upset your main rival's applecart, do you defend as hard as possible risking a collision with him when he's fully alongside approaching a corner? You've already lost out the duel anyway...

Other than that - such excitement in the F1 threads these days, here and on other forums. Pay TV is dealing F1 a slow death in Aus.

Almost about time to start that 2016 thread, cause this thing is done

Shit... might as well start a 2017 thread, I dare say Mercedes have next years WDC/WCC well in their sights too

Nah bro red bull will win next year.

F1 being the most boring spectator sport on TV at the moment is killing f1.

MotogGP on the other hand goes from strength to strength

I dont get how F1 and FIA have no requirement for engines to be available to to any team for nominal $$$

Williams seems to be dancing around thatvMerc haveca newcengine spec not available to them. Sauber are not using current spec Fezz engines and obviously RBR have no engine.

In the "glory" days the free availability of a Cosworth DFV meant you could build a chassis and win races...now you need the engine which Merc and Fezz are keeping to themselves..

And its BS. Sauber, Lotus, FI still in trouble and not only going to getvworse ifvthe next gen of young drivers dont have equally deep pockets as current crop

The advantage of being an actual constructor rather than a glorified garagist.

When Red Bull were blitzing the field for 3 years straight, did they have to supply their chassis to any team at a nominal cost?

Besides, RBR dug this hole for themselves.

Funny how they were talking about what they are doing to help with turbulent air etc saying wings need to be lower and wider.........

A bit like they were a few years ago?

Formula 1 is real strange like that. Go on and on about cost cutting then do circles with the rules. I suppose everyone can just dust off the old spec wings. 2nd hand parts will save money i guess........

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
