Sau:nsw - Monthly Meet February - Sunday Morning Cruise & Breakfast

Recommended Posts

Great shots everyone. Love that shot of the line of cars on the Sea Cliff Bridge, Ciaron.

The diversity of cars on the day was great to see (partly thanks to yours truly :P ) but some very nice Skylines and GT-Rs in the group.

T.g. no evos *cough...

...must be all broke.

Your expertise in photography has gone up in leaps and bounds Matt.

I was going to say, a cruise with no Evo's turning up

Mine is indeed, broken. :(

Looked like a great day, shame I couldn't make it. Hopefully my car will be up and running soon and be ready by the next meet!

And mine might be a head gasket as I found out to-day.

Is it just me; or can you hear the Skyline guys laughing?

There's a few guys who take pics on OPH; generally they load shots to FB pages, and you can pull them off their wall.

Some will give/sell full size image files to you if you ask nicely.

I've ordered my N1 pics off John Keogh thanks Dale.

I'd say he's got a good business - and in fresh air too.

John will be putting pics of the bmw as well tonight. He said next time we have a meet he would be happy to come along and take some snaps for his portfolio. I have his contact details which I can forward to the organisers.

Hi Guys,

My name is John Keogh and I am Keoghs Vision Photography - "Taking photo's, that's what I enjoy".

If you went through the National Park on Sunday I may have snapped you, Sandy Arun has already seen the photos on my site http://www.keoghsvision.com.au/nissans.html

I am always looking for photo opportunities and it appears you guys like to get your pride and joys photographed. Well why not get me involved, I can ride out to a good spot on your drive and capture your cars.

Yes I charge but not a real lot, coz I want you to buy the photos and for me I am always improving my photography skills so its a win win for both of us.

The shot below is one of my new ideas, I know this photo would blow up to 3.5 metres wide, Image your Nissan on the club house wall.

So best follow me on Twitter @keoghsvision or like My Facebook page " Keogh's Vision Photography"

Enough said, look forward to meeting you and unfortunately this Sunday is not good for me but I am sure we can arrange something in the future.

Hi John,

Thanks for making the effort and joining up to SAU - welcome!

For upcoming events and schedules, you can keep a lookout on our events section (NSW) of the forums and alternatively you can join us on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/saunsw

Thanks again for the pics. As you probably read, you gave us all a fright when we saw you on Sunday hehe. Now that we are acquainted, we'll make sure to pose for the pic :)

Cheers.

Raj.

I'm surprised I don't look petrified in this photo, thinking that I've been done for speeding (again)!

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
