First F..k you. Two you are the retard to even keep replying to my posts. Lol b.tch

Also I said i was told by a mechanic that you do have to take out the engine to replace the mounts.

From what I have seen at one of the shops I frequent, that is what they do.

I didn't say I was going to put in a rb 26 for sure.

I said I want to learn how to do it. If I did I would make s

My whole point is to learn how to do it. I geating a spare engine to work on to familiarize my self with working on a engine/RB. The 26 is different yes but there are some basic similarities. So I I will learn to take care of what I got. Afterwards I will get a 26 if I choose to install one vs buying a gtr.

Now you may do things differently. But if I have a experienced mechanic telling me something, i will listen.

If you think maybe I have received the wrong information, let me know without being an ass.

I am learning how to work on engines.

I don't care what any of you think about me or say. Let me say clearly, I don't give a f..k about what you think.

Three options, help, don't help or sod off.

I frankly ignore you're stupid comments.

Back to engines.

So let's move past this stupidness and talk about engines and other car parts

Yoshi,

Ben was genuinely trying to help you at the start of this topic but when you talk to someone like that and treat them like shit, no wonder they are going to make fun of you in the end. You clearly have no idea what to do and I doubt you've done so much work on your car without knowing what an oil pan or sump is. Do you change your oil in your car?

Take some of the advice people have given you and use it because they know what will happen if you don't.

Secondly you have so many ideas on what you want to do but change them so often. Why even bother looking into an rb26 conversion for months and the process if you decide to go ahead with the rb25. Take some time and pick what you want to do first, go with it then do the researching on how to install/remove.

And to say you have checked online, you need to brush up those researching skills and find more information before even bothering to attempt what you want to do. Google and Yahoo is quite easy to use but you need to be broad with your searches instead of asking a specific question. You will generate more results that way.

Learning to work on an engine for the fun of it can cost as much or more than to buy a car with the engine already in it if that is what you desire. Otherwise be prepared to spends lots of money and time buying parts, researching and experimenting.

Also to say you don't care what people think in general, why ask questions then if you want their opinion or advice. I'll tell you right now and agree with Ben, you don't need to pull an engine out to change the mounts.

Now if you think I am being an ass about my response then I don't care because quite frankly you aren't going to get far in life or your adventure with cars with the attitude and respect you have towards other car enthusiasts.

Seriously man. Yoshi you amaze me.

Thus site has so much info and you keep asking retarded questions.

Look at the rb25 Dyno results thread. Heaps of cars with over 300rwkw on stock engines. Compare that to the rb2o results thread and the rb26 thread

And I like it when you act tough. Its amusing.

Yoshi you mentioned you've bought a 25 sump. Did you note the info posted regarding the different sump bolt layout for the various engines? (25 tin sump is not going to bolt straight up to a 26)

Unfortunately you've picked a topic that to most of us here, belongs back in the early 90's.

We've mostly all been down this path and have been through the pitfalls and drama involved with a fully legal engine swap, even an engine that by all account will drop straight in.

My advice, if you really want a 26, buy a GTR.

If you want a relatively modern, torquey good performer, buy a 34 with a 25det Neo.

I didnt buy it. It was given to me. I have been given rb parts and car parts over the past couple of years.

Didnt know what to do with them.

I would like to buy a GTR, but with all of the Americans in Japan buying up the 32 GTRs, the prices have become rediculous. So at this point I am going to tune my car as I was asking about before to get as much horse power as I can out of it.

As I am saving for that I am going to think about the idea of changing out engines. I havent seen too many RB25 Neos here for decent prices. Seen some 25's here and there. Usually looking broke down.

There are lots of people wreacking skylines where I do my car stuff so I am watching for a 26 engine now that I see that it can get good power. There is one car here that is a 32 GTS-T that has a 26 put into it. So I see how that one drives.

If I am wrong about stuff, I dont mind being told I am wrong, but I have found many things and I am trying to understand all of it. Thats why I ask questions. I do read first and ask questions.

Yes I understand that he was kinda of helping me(?) I dont care what people say but if you want to help someone with something, you dont go around referring to them as retards. That is stupid. No need to answer at all.

I am learning about the things I have read, and working on my car learning more about engines.

As far as oil pans, I and my friends and other car people I know dont call them slumps, not anyone that I know of. Also as I mentioned before I read where people would say slump and than say the oil pan and cutting off parts of the GTR. So that made it sound like it was all different parts.

Also I didnt know that the front will drive parts where connected to the oil pan until recently. Thats why I asked questions.

NO I didnt treat anyone like shit. Once someone started with the verbal attacks, well I fired back even though it was all stupid.

So no question is a stupid question. I didnt know so I asked, if someone has a problem well than I dont care.

I respect people, and I expect to be respected back..

Yes I know how to change my oil pan, trans oil, diff oil. Done it, easy.

So I if anyone can help me thats is good, if not, dont answer my post.

Thanks for all who have helped.

im no expert with rbs and engine changes, if i was to learn the basics i would not start with a 26 into a gtst. it just dosnt make sense.
what does make sense is what everyone is telling you. rb25, neo if possible.

i havnt seen a valid reason as to why you would go agaist this advice. sure what everyone else does should not dictate what you should do but i would atleast expect a valid reason to do something differently especially doing so blindly.
now if you had a car and free motor, and had help from a mechanic who isnt telling you to pay him to remove and engine to replace mounts, then sure give it a shot. but whats your upside here?
what do you want from the 26 with mass effort and cost > the easy 2wd based RB options? cos its not going to be power budget to budget.

Edited by GH05T

call up neko corporation if they're still around they sell a premade adapter harness for HCR32 to use a RB25DET.

then get a RB25DET, plug it in, put on a GT-RS and you're done.

What's a slump?

Your question has already been answered 1000x over. I even searched in google "slump rb26 conversion forum" I still have zero idea of slumping.

If you can't manage a google search, then I don't know how successful a rb26 slump conversion is going to be.

BTW if it's a street car, go rb25. VCT is a good thing.

Thank you

Had stuff that I couldnt find with the other links I found.

I found links from other sites.

i'm just going to leave this here....

You can deal with the RB26 and get a GTR. WIN WIN!

http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/454662-r32-gtr-shell-and-motor-complete-car-just-motor-and-box-out/

Would that be the first ever GTR to be shipped in pieces from Australia to Japan instead of the other way around?

I am learning the basics with my RB20 engine.

Not going to buy the 26 and then learn.

I am listening to what to what people are telling me, trying to make sure I understand clearly.

Yes there are mechanic(s) who will be helping me that I dont have to pay. There is a garage shop for people to rent time with all of the tools nesscessary to do car work. Its cheap.

From what I can see, it seems easier to put the rb26 in and still use many things from the HCR32. Also can use the r32 gtr dash cluster and so on.

Also I can use the gtr main loom and have to do less changes to the wiring compared to the RB25. If I can find a premade rb25 loom that would make a difference.

But mainly it will come down to what is available for what price when it comes time for me to make the final decision of tuning to 350+ on the rb20 or buy a RB26 or 25.

For now going to learn on my engine. Upgrade the fuel pump and replace my failing clutch, put a rb25 turbo on it(I have it already was on my first skyline auto) and get a basic boost up tune to drive on while I save up money for the other things. Or if I feel I can learn enough to do it, buy the Nistune and try basic boost up tuning after I have studied and learned enough to try it.

I am just wondering if I do go engine swap and decide to pay the higher taxes and the registration fee for it, how much of a difference a rb25 with VVT compared to a rb26 with aftermarket cams and cam gears will be.

Also to say that GTR's are all going for heaps of cash is a load of horse shit. They have gone up in japan but have not changed to pick one up in Australia.

Also if you are worried about cost DON'T i repeat DO NOT buy an Rb26.

Anyone that has owned one will tell you that.

loled

what taxes are you referring to?

rego is a 6cl from rb20-26 once you actually get it complied.

Edit, sorry did not realize you were not in aust

I dont know how much taxes and import fees will be if I bring the car to Japan.

If someone has one for sale for about 4000-5000 dollars than it might be not too expensive with bringing the car in.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
