I dont think my battery even weighs like a kilo it's tiny, may as well be one of those little 9v batteries

You'd be surprised.

Thought my R1 battery was small but it was 4.5kg - saved nearly 4kg by using lithium. That's a lot of unsprung weight on a bike. People pay thousands for that kind of weight saving.

Phillip Island in a few weeks should be goooood I wonder what speed I'll get down the straight..

lol keep ya head down

Phillip island straight on a naked = gonna have a bad time

Why does it have anything to with the government? NBN has been a clusterf**k for a few years now. Visionstream were a primary contractor and had sack a lot of staff to reduce overheads from NBN playing hardball. Like many government backed initiatives, the cheapest bidder is selected, the price blows out due to poor estimations and general incompetence.

Whoever is in government at the time has little affect on this process.

The article I mean. Essentially blaming the government for changing the scope of the NBN and then blaming them when the project was within budget during Labour reign and now blowing out during liberal reign.

I think it works both ways

It's not beyond governments to put in measures of control for budgeting, but there are also variables you can't account for. And if delegations and contractors were lined up during a previous reign of government that's a bit difficult to control.

Forecasting an enormous project with so many variables is also very hard. I don't mind it blowing out within good reason, but when it's clear that private contractors are rorting or being rorted, that's when I feel not enough measures have been put in place or enough control exercised by governments. The insulation scheme, for example, should have been much better regulated than cheques written and contractors left to their own devices.

so want to stab some-one for that...all this money to guarentee slower internet than most of us get now.

how does it have anything to do with the gov..idiots decided to drop grom 100mbit to 25..

So spending a shit tonne of cash for the internet most of us already had/or faster.

they should have kept the original expandable system Labour had or cancelled it..which would be a better option as they cannot innovate like private business trying to clear a profit would.

^this

It's a LOT of money to drop on effectively obsolete technology.

Even if the labor model was more expensive it was the better option. This LNP clusterf**k will cost another $50 bil in a few short years when the whole thing needs to be replaced

What are you all crying about? The article clearly states that any additional funds will be raised from private investors & not government.

So relax, your precious tax income isnt being spent.

Also if you read the article instead of shouting that the sky is falling, it says:

"While 20 per cent of premises will get fibre connections, 38 per cent will get fibre to the node and 34 per cent will access the NBN using the hybrid fibre coaxial cables that supply Foxtel services."

HFC connections offer gigabit speeds & not the doomsday 25mbps.

f**k me, everyone has turned into a telecommunications engineer/capital coordinator.

    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together
    • I'm getting PTSD flashbacks seeing that name again.  With my turbo swift, I got 1,500km of street use on a Jim Berry clutch before it exploded and took out my input shaft with it.
