f**k, this shit again, really?

ok let me ask you this...did all the r32 gtr's from 89-94 and the v-specs from 94-96 have the engravings around the center caps? did any of them have holes drilled around the center caps? Im just saying...ive got the rare special edition Altia Falken GTR wheels that were only produced for the Falken GTR team. Ultra Rare bro.

Cast engravings and part numbers on all of course, yes. Drilled around the center caps no, that would mean not genuine Nissan. Regular GTRs 89-94 had the Nissan casting and Vspecs+N1s - 91-93, Vspec II - 94 had Nissan casting as well as BBS

The Altia/Falken R32 ran a 2 or 3 piece wheel, the R33 and R34 Altia cars had monoblock, same construction to what you have.

What you have is just an off the shelf wheel they sold way back in the 90s. Still kinda rare, I've never seen them.

This would be about the time I'd be looking to weigh one, and finding the weight of an OEM R32 GTR wheel, and seeing how much weight the teensy weensy holes have saved. Are R32 GTR wheels forged and scalloped on the rear of the spokes? Cos if they are I can't see the "Altia" ones weighing much less at all.

LOL they have gone from' N1 wheels with drill holes with no part numbers' to 'Falken GTR team ultra rare bros' all in one thread.

In b4, they are landing wheels for space shuttle atlantis

Aaaaaactually...space shuttles run 21x16s, and each tyre is inflated to 340psi, with a rating to 415kph max speed.

Sorry, I just hate misinformation... :google:

dude its pretty obvious that Altia N1 racing wheels made the wheels. They are not a genuine nissan part. N1 is part of the companies name......not some special edition N1 skyline model lol. My god. You just have a Altia N1 racing wheel that are probably slightly better than the stock nissan. But no one cares because its 16x8. It's really nothing special at all. It's just an off the shelf option. Who buys aftermarket wheels that are the same as the damn stock ones? No one. Rarity is not always a good thing. They are rare because stupid. There is also rare because ugly. Like most of the veilside catalogue lol. How in the hell you have convinced yourself that you have some special nissan few hundred made lightweight r32 N1 wheel is beyond me. This is why humans fail, we are gullible......quit trying so hard and go buy some 17 or 18's that fit better than those sunken battle ship junkers.

Sorry brah, my tyre fitter Mohammed at fullysicktyres said I can get Space shuttle reps in original 18 inch size, in chrome of course. He works in a tyre shop so he must know everything about wheels and tyres.

Perhaps. Or some old arse wheels from the 70's/80's.

I've seen those Magnesium wheels on YAJ but obviously not in those sizes (smaller 17" for Silvias).

Yeah i have not seen another set floating around.

Nor have i seen another set of my wheels in this sizing either... lol

    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
    • I take it that the knock retard is from bearings tapping a little tune? Thicker oil is a fragile bandaid. You need a much bigger oil cooler and probably the bigger pump being discussed.
    • Hi @Chupapy i had several leaks from coolant pipes being corroded, i also had one leak on back of the head onto transmission. For me that leak was from the turbo water line. Follow the line to the back of the head The hose and metal pipe had perished these are the best pics I took of it at the time
