Yeah turn 2 is more open then it looks, so the kink (turn 1) is flat in a lot of cars...maybe not in the quicker, poor handling ones ;)

Actually, a lot of the time to be made up at wakefield is the whole 3/4/5/6 complex at the top of the hill, a great spot to practice your left foot braking.

With turn 8, you just take the kamakazie line in, hit the first part of the turn while still braking hard, then turn in and wind the lock back off while hitting the second apex really late. Then flat thru 9 (mostly, although I've ended up in the dirt at 120 a couple of times from turning in too late.

Turn 10, turn in *really* late, go over the jump...and start another lap

easy :(

except in the wet on semi slicks :( right roy?

2nd best track in NSW after Oran Park GP circuit :D

I think this is why I have such a good time at WP. I have RE55's now. Watch the **** out!!!!

LOL... i was watching some footage of that day about 3 weeks ago with a friend, 6 spins in one day :headspin:

I would have thought the road rubber i had would have been better then semis in the wet, you and that yellow ute lapped me every 5-6 laps...LOL, so whats that 10-12 seconds a lap quicker then me :kick:

I want to come back to NSW in May to do a few track days before i sell the old girl and head OS, be interesting to see if i can go a bit quicker, or whether the extra power just brings undone:(

It will be an honour system as proving lap times is rather difficult, so i ask that you are honest. As a minimum laps should be hand timed by a spectator or third party. And please bear in mind that others may be spending considerable amounts of money on the content of the posts :)

i was at wakefield today driving one of those v8 auscar things they have there......which was brilliant then i was soo excited i put the skyline on the track toooo......i'm no more a track virgin :)

farken awesome, will be back there real soon.

just thought i'd share my excitement. :)

I love the torque in the V8's. Fantastic!!!

i wasnt too confident so i wasnt pushing too hard, but they dont really limit you, you have a pace car infront of you and basically you gotta catch him and push him to go faster. I found them to be pretty cool at wakefield.

My car isnt on song yet, but wasnt too bad could only rev to 5900 because of injectors maxing out above that. But next time it wont be like that :D

Also had my girlfriend in the passanger seat, that was fun tooo!

Hey Roy who's this GTR Jason dood faster than my slot car??? Give me a dog box and will be a lot closer if not beat but pretty impressive times. Does he get out to the track much as I have not seen it? What colour is this beast or pics or website??

I got no idea, i suppose his name is Jason:)

All i know is that its an R32 with HKS 2540s etc. See if we can get him to Wakefield/UAS day. He apparantly has just opened a workshop out past Liverpool...showdown:)

Providing i make it thru this weekend at Winton with no problems ill be paying for the UAS Wakefield day in May:)

Im hoping to pull 3 secons out of my best lap time now that i have 80rwkws more and semi slicks...ill be stoked with a 1:10, ill be buying the beer if i crack into the 1:09s:)

hahah you sure don't have to be competitive to be at the UAS day, after all they let Zs out on the track there :)

And I understand Jason will be joining you for your track day John, unfortunately Mark and I will be down at Targa that week.

    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
