If you're plumbing your gate back 100% go 3.5" even 4". If you're running a screamer, you can get away with a 3" based on your estimate power goals. Bigger is always better.

Hmm, makes me rethink my plans for a bigger exhaust if screamer makes that much of a difference ;)

I'd like an extra inch..

Wait what are we talking about again?

I really do like the sound of those Kakimoto catbacks but i'm not sure 3.5" is going to cut it for ~380-400awkw. Would hardly want to be spending big bucks on one only ot find i need to sell it also.

550awkw has been acheived with a 2.8 stroker and 3.5in exhaust (no screamer) - not to say that bigger won't be better

I'm currently running a full 3" system with no step downs, however with a screamer... I will be redoing it sometime this year and plumbing everything back and running a 3.5" turbo back, however I'm going to be sneaky and plumb the screamer back after the cat :)

Smells legal when the gate is shut, not so legal when the gate opens haha :)

+1 to this, John has it.

Also if plumbing gate back in, make sure you do it as far down as possible, less disruption to gas flow (etc etc)

They sound great, restrictive as hell. Been there and done that!

Universal mufflers and get one fabbed up is a better option.

With the jap exhuast is it the cannon ore the centre mufflers thats the restriction ? My blitz type r has caused a restriction at 350rwkw i would like to know if its the centre resonator thing or the cannon that restricts flow

Depends on where they try and hide it.

If your rear looks like that, you've found it.

They may have been nice enough to taper it down or after the front muffler too. Such nice blokes.

Holy mother of God. What system is that?

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
