No Crust Racing
I drove stock M4 and modded MY12 R35 back to back when I was deciding what to do after the 34R, that was why I didn't buy another GT-R... I get it, I would have taken the M4 instead. BUT, I am nowhere near as thirsty as you lol The 1.6k dirt road to my house is getting sealed next year too, which means I only have a few hundred meters of dirt driveway to contend with now so maybe I can look at something in the future, I won't be spending M4 money on it though, would rather use that for track car/days where I can properly enjoy the speed. Dose Pipe Sutututu
Just now, ActionDan said: BUT, I am nowhere near as thirsty as you lol hahaha what do you mean? I'm not that thirsty or I would have ditched both renos, stripped the R33 and bought a M3/4 F80 already lol.. I still gotta adult and make adult decisions, however the 135i N54/55 are at S14/15 prices these days and you'll be silly not to consider it if you're after a reasonably fast car. Exhaust, FMIC, hard FMIC pipe work, MHD reflash and you'll be at 260~270kW Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/469678-s13-sprinttime-attack-style-build/page/19/#findComment-7919567 Share on other sites
No Crust Racing
Because whilst I agree I would have one over another GT-R I'm not on SAU, That's Skylines Australia, constantly banging on about how great they are. You thirsty AF lol Horses for courses, yeah as a daily, makes sense, as a car I would want to track I would take the S chassis for simpicity and cost of maintenance and repairs. Looked at BMW 335 and went in m4 but so damn expensive when they break. M4 was also missing some little things that make a great daily/fun car - no centre console, passenger seat position was weird and the info screen wasn't as good as cheaper cars. If only Hyundai made a rwd car similar to the I30N. A mates has surprised me and a few local skylines/silvia/86 owners. Be interesting to see how they go once it starts to get a few Km's om it. No Crust Racing
Engine build has begun, seems my donor parts were in good condition so hunting around for a minimally damaged donor paid off. Head has been inspected/stripped and cleaned. Block has been inspected, squared, and is being measured for clearances. Soon to be CNC'd then bead blasted. Crank has been crack tested and journals all checked A-OK. Asked the builder for some pcitures of course. Jury still out on if I put the motor in this car or something else but no rush to decide, need shed up first I think. As per other thread, been looking at ZF HP8 conversions instead of Z32/CD009, ZF looks very cool for lots of reasons. Got given a MIG Welder, hundreds of dollars in accessories later it's ready to go lol. Should bel be fun to learn a new half skill. Dealing with the planning process with Council so I can commit to a new shed and finally get a hoist, hoping to have that done in this half of this year, but see what happens. As soon as you wanna go over 100sqm it triggers a huge amount of extra work in terms of bushfire planning and requirements, so may end up not going 10x12 and sticking with 9x11 to avoid all that. Will still have the old 6x12 so will be fine either way but bigger is always better Edited February 10, 2020 by ActionDan 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/469678-s13-sprinttime-attack-style-build/page/19/#findComment-7924569 Share on other sites

No Crust Racing
Machining continues. There was a 0.2mm difference in height across the main caps on the girdle which can apparently equate to 5-10Nm of difference in applied torque. Expecting pics of clean things shortly. video-1582546024.mp4 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/469678-s13-sprinttime-attack-style-build/page/19/#findComment-7925449 Share on other sites
No Crust Racing
Pic dump. This is after glass bead blasting, now time for a final acid wash/pressure cleaned with bungs etc out and the build can commence. Sad to see the girdle isn't perfect anymore but probably better it's square and level. Seems to upload them in random order sorry. No Crust Racing
Sadly no car progress, builder is flat stick plus all the Corona shit. Think he said he had to pick up some of my stuff next. Plenty of progress on other things though. Tuned the Prado (Raptor), tune helps a bit with low down torque and lock up behaviour, not earth shattering as it's just an NA tune, but it clearly helps. Tune + throttle controller plus intake mods has definitely made the car much better to drive. Freight company lost my ECU in transit in the return leg though, was not impressed at all, simply went missing from the system for 5 days (was an overnight priority shipping and got there overnight no problem). Just running the all fuels tune at the moment 91-95 (I run 95 usually, that's the ask and it runs better on it). Have a 98 tune there to test as well. Also going to remove the intake chambers and see if it gives me more rice induction noise, already done panel filter and removed restrictor in the airbox, just curious if I can add some woosh noist lol. Just about completed the 80k service also, front diff plug is a bitch, bought a kit to help as it's a known difficult job - pick that up today.https://www.kaon.com.au/front-diff-tool-and-24mm-drain-plug-toyota-hilux-k Been building a woodshed, fitted the all the corner flashings missing in the pic last night, just need to do the one above the door and pop the solar security light in and we're done. Had 40mm of rain last night and it's dry inside, good news. Lined it with form ply as well so I can load wood right up against the walls. Bought an SDS rotary hammer drill for the dyna bolts and some proper 4 headed SDS bits, god damn it makes putting dyna bolts in so much easier than my previous experiences. Has shown that my 2 little 2.5ah batteries are aging, but still under warranty so will try and push them through for fresh ones. Still got a horse shelter to do (should be much easier) and then after winter I'll start on a new shed for me, settled on 10x12 with 3.5m walls and 4.5m to the pitch (hoist time!). The exsting 6x12 will just be for trailers/general storage and some space for the missus to setup her horse stuff. I've jumped through all the council hoops, planning permits, building applications, Bushfire planning permit, even a bloody white card was needed (owner builder). I only swore at them a handful of times... Corona can f**k off also. No Crust Racing
Talked to engine builder, agreed on some extra machining/custom work in the bottom end and the full enchilada porting/valve seat work etc in the head so that's that now, just time for him to build it. Told him I think I'd like it by spring just to put a date on it, that's also when I'll get to work on the new shed. Finished that wood shed, built a horse shelter as well which was much faster but I managed to drop a top hat on my car (it was nearby so I could use the compressor to blow out the bolt holes in the footings. Replaced windscreen and the plastic trim below it, woops. Removed thoise big ugly intake chambers from intake, oh man the car actually sounds "decent" when you give it the boot now. Using the 98 tune currently and driving faster on average but getting the same economy and having more fun Found a little hidden vac line so had to whip up a solution for that. Built myself a log stand also as a welding project with some scraps, saves my back heaps. Stole the design from a place in the UK who wouldn't ship to Aus. Forks come out of the base for easy storing/transport. My first "go" with my welder so for someone with no training/experience I was happy with how it looked after a flap disc and some cold gal lol Was a good learning project. Got another chainsaw too, used my neighbours and fell in love, bigger 3/8" chain, 50% more power Am yet to break it in. Have just been loving autumn, max bonfires, beers with the neighbours etc. Starting to get an itch to go racing again. No Crust Racing
Found a clip, remember this is stock exhaust and through a snorkel. Not saying it's "good" but you have to hear a stock V6 prado first to understand how shit they are prior to this lol Louder in person which is hilarious to me when overtaking. Makes no noise otherwise. 20200415_173319.mp4 Edited June 4, 2020 by ActionDan Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/469678-s13-sprinttime-attack-style-build/page/19/#findComment-7932342 Share on other sites
No Crust Racing
Time to upgrade daily to 21st century. Accidentally received 2 cameras so will see how it compares to the factory rear and if it's better see if it can be retrofitted in its place. The other is for front cam. Ordered shed kit, will see it late Sep, ended up going for 10x14x3.6 for 4.5m under the pitch and hoist life. Will make Silvia build and just general service work so much easier. Finding a contractor to help me assemble has been a challenge, they all have various "wants". Will only build a shed kit they supply, will only build a shed on a slab they pour etc, working my way through that. Engine builder back on to engine building now, but all I've seen is a pic of my clean rockers and other peoples long blocks being buttoned up. Mine is next.
