Guest Robo's
see my sig for times.  (beofre cooler and flywheel)

I looking for 12s (12.9) as I just fitted a lightweight flywheel which are reputedly good for 0.4 - 0.5.

Also bolted in front mount cooler which should add a touch.

PowerFC coming soon.

Definent 12s

I doubt whether the flywheel would help you that much. So if i fitted the flywheel i would be running mid 12's, i doubt it, but still if i picked up 0.1 i'd be happy.

I picked up over 3/10's and 4mph with the intercooler.

Yeah I agree thats why next time when I'm not wheel spinning so bad I will get the 120mph. 120MPH should put any car deep into the 11's even 10's.

You can watch the video of it the car lights it into 3rd gear

Alot of mods there, i wouldnt be happy with anything short of 120mph.

I still cant beleive you got a 12 with standard turbo, are you SURE its still the standard turbo? I spose with that 60ft time and a perfect drive its not impossible

Here's my response from boostcruising:

I'm in exactly the same situation as you so here's my advice based on waaay too many hours of research:

- 2530 will make plenty of power all the way to redline. You've picked the perfect turbo so don't worry about that.

- I'm also hesitant to upgrade my injectors without really needing to. You've got the cost of injectors ($300-400), management ($1500-2000), AFM ($300) plus labour. Just make the most out of what you've got and be happy with it.

- Get the car on a dyno and just run the most boost you can before totally maxing out the injectors. I'm hoping to run 1.2-1.3bar max.

- Put some 225/50/16 semi-slicks on your stock rims (something like Falken RT215s which are fairly cheap) and drop the air pressure to 20psi.

- Swap your coilovers for a standard set of springs and shocks for the weekend.

- Install 'pineapples' (subframe bushes) to minimise axle tramp.

- Lightened flywheel will definately be an advantage. I'm looking round for a twin plate clutch which come with lightened flywheel, not as light as aftermarket but better than stock.

That's exactly what i'm planning for my car and hopefully with some practice and luck i can run a 12.7-12.8 (or maybe slightly better with my weight advantage over the r32).

Im telling ya 20psi in ya tyres wont do anything noticable get them squashed run 8psi do a massive burnout and then launch and tell me if it made no difference.

WSID was designed to be one of the quickest, legal drag racing tracks in the world. There's alot of sneaky development that went into building the track, that all fits within acceptable rules. Little things like the maximum amount of downhill gradient allowed, track surface and base, as well as the U shaped design to mimimise headwind etc.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi mate,

with regards to spinning on the rims Im not sure I am no way a tyre expert I just tried the 20psi then 15 but found huge difference with sub 10psi in them.

Yes doing 12's on standard turbo does amaze me a bit. ?? Have you guys got a dyno print out ? The guys pulling the high 12s ons tandard turbos?

JH

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
