I have 95 s14 with a series 2 rb25det

Car is not running right and have spent lots of money trying to diagnose it and the compression number for cylinder 6 is more 10% different than others, so was gonna either buy another rb25 or swap a rb26 in it.

I will already have the rb25 trans, what else would I need

New wiring specialties harness?

Can I use my top mount exhaust manifold with adapter plate?

Will the engine mounts be the same?

Will the driveshaft be the same? 253391A2-9FA1-4C20-85FE-867ACBD18C96.thumb.jpeg.7cd59a720d017d3127cde51dba3cc60c.jpeg

If I can use a lot of the same parts I will rather get the stronger engine and safe the long term hassle of pushing higher hp numbers..

Thanks in advance for any input!

List of mods on car now

RB26 does not have lower mounting points for gearbox cast into the block, the 26 has the gearbox mounting points in the sump. The RB25 uses two pressed steel mounts that bolt to the block and gearbox

Okay so why do they say use the rb25 trans with that swap set up?

Don't know who "they" are mate i'm just stating the facts, I personally would not run a Rb26 with no lower bolts connecting the gearbox to the engine for obvious reasons, I also don't see why you would bother, I would sort out your current configuration

I was hoping to achieve 400-500whp easier and be more reliable at the same time
Lol stock RB26 is probably less reliable and more $$$ to get more power out of than RB25 (even with single turbo). I reckon get your current motor checked out, or replace it (depending on engine prices/shipping for you)

Yea after thinking and looking at all the prices I’m going to just get another rb25 engine, and just build the current engine stronger

Before you buy another engine, pull the head off your compression problem could be just valve related (ie sticking valve)

or simply head gasket, diagnose first, spend money second.

    • thanks for the advice on the box... i was thinking the 6 speed was better for cruising on the highway but on closer inspection and comparison the Rb 5 speed box was not too different...  So the choice is going to be the RB25 box... if I can save up and find one at the right price
    • Thanks Matt, yes that's what i am aiming for. Just going to apply the right voltage and grounds to the dash connector. Hence my search for these pins... any chance you know if these pins are in the same spot as the ones on the S15 Dash connector? as mentioned above on page 8?
    • Yes, unfortunately that's the one. Signal was noisy to begin with; after driving once and looking back at the logs I saw pressure constantly swinging between 0-200psi, or staying at 0 randomly for a few seconds. There's a lot of good sensors that share the same look and feel, so don't presume they're all bad. I bought mine for 20$ off Amazon and I should have read the reviews prior, as it's clear they're junk.  I purchased a lowdollerr motorsports sensor.
